Competition against Nadeau!

Anonymous
It is not the job of a council member to fill pot holes or pick-up trash. If that isn't happening the individuals in charge of those departments should be removed.

Do you have any idea what the actual job of a council member is? Do you know anything about the DC budget?

Pretty soon everyone in Ward 1 is going to be running against Nadeau.

Brianne has accomplished two things of note during her tenure on the council.

A. She had a child.

B. She pumped breast milk while holding meeting.

Legislative accomplishments?

Don't forget when she snarked the Prince of Petworth at a public safety meeting, giving that dimwit free publicity that he milked for all it's worth.

Do you? Constituent services is the number one job of a ward councilmember. Responding to resident concerns about quality of life. They have constiuent services people who are tasked with doing nothng but dealing with these issues, Briannes offices falls short on all fronts. She is too busy with with her silly tweets.

Constituent services is indeed important but the poster is correct. There are people in the office and individuals tasked specifically with dealing with these issues. Point is that if the CS issues aren't being dealt with then there's a bigger issue and the blame does indeed fall onto the council member's ability to staff their office and manage these organizations.

Your council member is working on the budget and bigger picture items like school quality and hospitals and affordable housing all of which suck in DC.

I agree Brianne is silly. She has a p/r background and understands the value of an image. She has, pardon the pun, milked the motherhood thing to death. Now don't get me wrong I have the utmost respect for working mothers and Brianne but she acts as if she just invented the role.

The truth? Her vote supporting Barry's statue says volumes about Nadeau and the council. He was married 4 times and slept with everyone except his wives but she doesn't have the guts to say something like that just like she doesn't have the guts to stand-up to developers and courts developer cash at every opportunity.

Can't stand that grandstanding nimwit. Who can I vote for who will beat her.

Lori Parker? Nope. Reid? Nope. Boese? No. The only person who seems to have any new ideas is the Independent Boyd. He's running a campaign that's largely word-of-mouth because he refuses to take any donations. He touts reform on the council. 1. Term limits. 2. Open primaries 3. Cooling off period for lobbying council by former council members. 4. No second jobs. And, fiscal responsibility. He makes a compelling case and I doubt that Nadeau would want to debate him. If he makes it through to general and the election comes down to the two of them she could be in for a much tougher fight than she might imagine.

Boyd sounds promising. I would love to see a former marine on DC city council. Talk about fireworks. Wish he were running in ward 3!

LOL, he really is a dimwit. Don’t ever say anything he disagrees with, no matter how relevant or non-controversial. It will be quickly deleted by the insecure man-child.

Boyd was tagged a "Renaissance Man" in a City Paper article about candidates running for office in the district. According to a previous article in addition to serving in the Marines he worked as a DC teacher and as a stockbroker. Now he works as a "researcher" whatever that is?

He has a twitter feed under the nom de plume of "Beltway" Greg Boyd. If you check his hashtag of #boyd4ward1dc it provides a comprehensive picture of just about every position he has taken. he is running as an independent and isn't asking for any money.

She would call those accomplishments and view it as sticking it to the patriarchy.

So far, I'm satisfied with her. I like that she trolled Jason Chaffetz. He sucked.

What does trolling chaffetz accomplish? It certainly doesn't improve life in her ward or the district. To the extent it does anything at all, it sticks a finger in the eye of someone who actually has some power over the city.

Checked out Boyd’s twitter feed. He lays out some compelling ideas, much better than anyone on council, regarding election reform in DC. Term limits, etc. So far he’s the only one with any real ideas.

He might be too old. He lists his birthday as being July 1900.
Almost 118.

nadueas office was a disaster at the latest Park View crime meeting. She is so clueless about violent crime. but she is so proud of her anti street harassment bill. So don't cat call women but 14 year olds shooting each other in broad daylight across from the elem school is not such a big deal. Vote for Kent Boese, he is awesome on constituent services.
