Why are Virginia drivers so bad?

MD drivers think they're born to cruise in the left lane. I was on 28 (in Virginia) this morning behind someone with MD tags. I was going pretty fast and came up behind them. I flashed my lights for them to move over (not wanting to do so myself, pass them on the right and encourage their bad driving), which they did, surprisingly. So what do they do when I pass? Move right back into the left lane.

I'll disagree.
My daughter just had drivers education in MD. Her teacher was a woman that moved here from Africa and the woman told the students that the left lane is not for faster drivers. They also cannot turn the wheel hand over hand- they must "scoot" the wheel to pass the test. There were so many things this lady didn't know about--like the express lanes in VA.
I live in Silver Spring and drive to Baltimore daily for work. These Maryland drivers are slow (I'm from the Midwest) I admit I speed.

Yeah, your strip of suburban MD is so much better than that other strip of suburban VA.

I feel like this most common demographic on this site is middle-aged moms who live in either the MD or VA burbs, tell out-of-towners they live in "DC", love to exaggerate their incomes, and have some sort of bizarre superiority towards this region's other suburban wasteland across the Potomac.

For the people saying VA is rural- have you ever been outside of Montgomery County in MD? We have to drive through a big chunk of MD to get to my husband's family in WV (don't even get me started on that state) and what I see in the rest of MD is about as Deliverance as a place can be. Not to mention the towns outside the beaches...both VA and MD have their redneck areas.

Lol, they also make this slight right to make sure they fit. They are looking left while turning slightly right (id there a word for it?) and then taking their left. They almost hit the car on right lane, but keep going becasue they didn't and they were not even looking at the driver on the right. I always get this sharp pain under my heart when they do that. They come so close to hitting you and then just turn like nothing happened.
I though op, is talking about the Asians and other foreigners of Northern Virginia who suck, but op is talking about no good redneck driving.
I'm always stuck behind somebody who drives super carefully. Slowly, stops to let cars go and then goes because he/she doesn't want to scratch parked cars or his car, and then what do you know, runs a stop light or doesn't see a pedestrian trying to cross. I've noticed it so many times. What kind of driver is this? Usually an elderly who literally seems to see some things in traffic and ignore or not notice other things.

I have. There is absolutely no comparison to the country in MD, which is, first of all, almost completely drying out now, and second of all, fairly pastoral and beautiful.

And Virginia, which is famous for it's absolutely massive swatch of redneck swampland. It absolutely makes up the vast majority of the state.

I live in DC and see a lot of MD and VA drivers. The MD drivers are aggressive assholes. The Virginia drivers do not appear to have any idea WTF is going on.
