Lmao what a nerd |
Same here. Mine had tried on approximately 100000 pairs of Nike over the years and he usually goes back to New Balance, Asics or even Brooks. Yes, Brooks. He always ends up picking what’s comfortable and often needs to put in inserts. |
Another New Balance fan over here. The kid goes for comfort/fit every time. |
| My sporty 8th grader likes new balance and pumas. He will only buy school shoes he can run etc in. Likes Brooks but says the shoelaces are too short. Only likes Nikes for basketball. |
Mine loves yeezies and a lot of vintage ones. My H has a cool collection and he wears his dad's, as they both wear the same size currently. They are tall dudes in size 14, so a lot of the B&M stores don't have their size. My boys grew out of the Costco selection in elementary school. I can't believe you guys judge yeezies. Did you forget the atrocities from the 80s? The perms, the blue eyeshadow, the socks?
|
| I also hate how short the Brooks laces are. I thought it was just me. |
| I’m so jealous of all these kids who are not into sneakers and don’t know what they want! That had not been my experience since ES. |
ME TOO! My 10 yo for a pair to help with Sever's and he could not tie those suckers. The laces were ridiculous. |
I am not sure if DC kids are “behind the times” compared to California. My 8th grade son and his friends all wear Yeezys. |
This is the correct answer. |
+1 This really depends on the kid and what their immediate friend group is into. My oldest son wouldn't be caught dead in yeezy's and my younger son has had them for a few years now. |
|
My sons are into Nike Blazers, Nike Dunks, Vans, Chucks, Yeezy Boosts, and some Jordans. And crocs have been huge this summer, oddly enough. I see so many guys sporting them at the pool instead of the slides that were popular last year, especially the Gucci (and Fucci) slides of last summer.
AF1s are apparently 'over' now and mainly only being worn by teen girls. |
Lmao what a dummy |
| I teach high school (9 and 10, not far off.) The boys wear Dunks, Jordans, Crocs with socks (do not wear them without). It’s mostly girls in AF1s now. Some of the boys wear Blazers, not a ton- think you need to have pretty slender ankles to make those work. Obviously there’s kids who don’t care and wear whatever athletic sneaker is comfortable but if you’re asking about the cool sneakers for kids who do care, it’s those. |
100% agree with all of this |
