Hipsternian any race. Or family from Brazil. |
The child I know with a very, very, very similar name - one parent is from a Spanish-speaking country, the other parent is from a Muslim country (trying to be as vague as possible here). |
+1 It's all about context. If you are White I would imagine you're being pretentious. If I see somebody have a different race then I would assume it's an ethnic name. |
Yes. But still pretentious as hell. Cai is a family name--is it yours? Why run the two together like that? So people won't know you're naming your kid Janedoe or Susanjohnson? Are you going to pronounce it Ts'aiyen? |
| Like the pepper. Girl (I guess because of the "Ann" sound?) |
Chinese. Assuming you know who Cai Yan is. |
Haha, just saw a previous post. Maybe I should have said biracial, Chinese/Hipsternian.
|
More like trailer park parents... |
| I would pronounce cayenne like the pepper, and assume it was white parents looking for a "unique" name. |
| Probably from Wasilla, AK |
|
Kai_yan..like the spice
Think of another name! |
| Cayenne like the pepper |
+1. I'd assume an unwed teen mom |
|
I know a Kiyan (boy) and a Keyonna (girl). If I met a Caiyun (pronounced Kai Yoon or Cayenne) I'd assume pretentious, stupid, or not white.
But really I'd think the parents should have picked something else. |
| Kai (like Sky) Ann. I'd assume white trash. |
