NP here. The blonde = youth theory has been widely discussed by scientists. Not the first time I've seen this theory. Doesn't necessarily mean pedophilia, but does mean youth. Youth = fertility. Same thing for wrinkles, make up to cover skin blemishes that indicate age and damage, etc. Makes sense to me.

I think men care much more about faces then they do about hair color.

However, I will admit blonde hair is a good crutch for those with busted faces, which is why older women tend to go blonde.

I got the impression growing up down south that blondes were some sort of trophy to a segment of the population down there. When I moved north it seemed to me to be much less of a thing.

I would agree. I love Northern European women. Hottest girl I saw was a blonde from Northern Ireland. Can't stand the Irish...but I make an exception for her. Lots of hot Afrikaans women too.
