What will stop this craziness?

Trump is an asshole, and a lot of other things but that is IDIOTIC!!

Here, read this and then stop calling Trump a fascist.

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/interrogation/2016/02/is_donald_trump_a_fascist_an_expert_on_fascism_weighs_in.html

Tell me the ways in which you think Trump is not fascist.

I think there are some powerful differences. To start with, in the area of programs, the fascists offer themselves as a remedy for aggressive individualism, which they believed was the source of the defeat of Germany in World War I, and the decline of Italy, the failure of Italy. World War I, the perceived national decline, they blamed on individualism and their solution was to subject the individual to the interests of the community. Trump, and the Republicans generally, and indeed a great swath of American society have celebrated individualism to the absolute total extreme. Trump’s idea and the Republican plan is to lift the burden of regulation from businesses.

That’s fascinating. Anything else?

The other differences are the circumstances in which we live. Germany had been defeated catastrophically in war. Following which was the depression, which was almost as bad in Germany as it was here. Italy was on the brink of civil war in 1919. There were massive occupations of land by frustrated peasants. The actual problems those countries addressed have no parallel to today. We have serious problems, but there’s no objective conditions that come anywhere near the seriousness of what those countries were facing. There was a groundswell of reaction against the existing constitutions and existing regimes. That’s trumped up here; accidental pun, sorry.

Thank you. I am a HRC supporter who rebukes the violent protests and calls for violence against Trump and his family.

And there is NO DOUBT a significant part of the Trump vote is because of bigotry and racism.

It's not about racism and misogyny. It's about employment. I'm not a Trump supporter, but just because Democrats keep throwing those words at Republican voters doesn't make it so.

Unemployment is at 4.9%. Good jobs or bad jobs, people are employed. It's not about employment. It may be about income stagnation, deflation, the lost decade followed by the next one, income inequality, healthcare premiums, or any number of issues. But not unemployment.

If you're in the group that can't get a job proportionate to your skills and training, it's a major concern. Just any old job or underemployment is highly frustrating to them. But feel free to say it's not about employment, just because they can get a job at the nearest hamburger stand.

I was out of the work force for 7 years. I was able to get a job in high tech in 6 months. The problem is this group's skills aren't in demand anymore and in many cases the hamburger stand is what is available, for now since it will be automated in the future just like manufacturing, store clerks, and very soon-truck driving. No matter what The Donald says these jobs aren't coming back and these folks are going to be left behind and unemployed.

People have lost rational thought here. Not sure what some of you are reading or watching, but some of you are bordering on lunacy.
I understand your candidate did not win, despite people thinking she had it won long before the election was over.
I understand you are disappointed, sad, and angry. But some of the things being said on this site are way over the top.

My advice - if you need it, get an anti-depressant pronto. Then, relax and wait until there Trump DOES something truly egregious before venting your outrage.

You don't get it. Trump played the fascist dictator card like a boss. Make the downtrodden think that the brown person/Jew/gay person/Muslim/Mexican - you get the point - is what's stopping them from getting ahead. Make the angry masses focus on the minority as the problem, so then they won't focus on the real problem which is the corporate interests and other socio-political barriers that limit their economic chances.

So sure, it's about employment at first pass; it's about racism and misogyny after that. And it is about racism and misogyny and anti semitism and xenophobia.

He played the angry white people like a fiddle (I'm white, so I can say that ).

I guess the Trump Foundation isn't egregious, or his unfortunate habit of declaring bankruptcy?

He is the duly-elected president-elect. We will all wait until he does something egregious. Wish we didn't have to, though.

"Some" is not the same as a significant number.

One is significant and one is too many. The fact that you ( and other Trump supporters) and Trump himself refue to condemn these acts and instead choose to blame them on Hilary or it's just a few is very telling.

You're twisting the comment. One murder, one rape, one beating, one racist, is all one too many. The comment was to address the poster who blatantly and without facts said that that kind of racist was "NO DOUBT a significant part of the Trump vote."

You are still not getting it.

I get that for YOU it's about employment. But what if for Trump and his minions it is about racism, anti-semitism and authoritarianism? Are you good with ending American democracy as we know it?

What planet do you occupy where Trump hasn't already done something truly egregious? Is it that he just appointed a proud white nationalist to his cabinet - the same one who spearheaded his campaign? Is it that he bullied the press and lied and gaslighted through the campaign - even denying statements captured on video at his rallies or interview? Is it where he bragged about assaulting women and/or dismissed some of his accusers because they weren't attractive enough?

What exactly is egregious from your standpoint?
