What will stop this craziness?

Maybe the Electoral College will do its job.

It's not about racism and misogyny. It's about employment. I'm not a Trump supporter, but just because Democrats keep throwing those words at Republican voters doesn't make it so.

Unemployment is at 4.9%. Good jobs or bad jobs, people are employed. It's not about employment. It may be about income stagnation, deflation, the lost decade followed by the next one, income inequality, healthcare premiums, or any number of issues. But not unemployment.

I wouldn't be worried by the look of the protesters...

Might be about jobs to some. But his policies don't make jobs. His policies won't help many but the wealthy.

And there is NO DOUBT a significant part of the Trump vote is because of bigotry and racism.

I am new to the US and I wonder if this was s common after elections here.

No, it's not common. I've never seen any of these sorts of protests. Someone in a different thread said that the last time there were widespread protests following an election was in 1840. It's virtually unheard of, really.

Well, for one, Trump could stop appointing white nationalists to his administration. He could reject the anti-gay, anti-Muslim candidates for his cabinet and affirm that there is no place for homophobia or hatred of Islam in a Trump administration. He could make a speech in which he rejects without reservation any of the alt-right support that brought him into office. He could announce that his Department of Justice will step up its patrol of civil rights violations and assure us of his commitment to justice for all Americans of all colors. He could appoint a Muslim cabinet member and go to a mosque and say that Muslims are Americans, too. He could try to bring on some Democrats to his cabinet to show he is willing to reach across the aisle and will not be an extreme partisan. He could also affirm that he is committed to making sure that the United States does its part in protecting the environment, acknowledge that global warming is real and one of the great dangers to world stability, and embrace the Paris accords. And he could give up his twitter account and say that he is never going to play the blame game again or bully others with tweets.

I'm sure I can think of a few other things, but that's a start.

Amen to all this, but in reality Trump's first move is attack the press and make a leader of the alt-right his chief advisor. Fanning the flames.

If you're in the group that can't get a job proportionate to your skills and training, it's a major concern. Just any old job or underemployment is highly frustrating to them. But feel free to say it's not about employment, just because they can get a job at the nearest hamburger stand.

Yet instead of saying "this is horrible and we won't allow it," you get defensive. You are the problem

One is significant and one is too many. The fact that you ( and other Trump supporters) and Trump himself refue to condemn these acts and instead choose to blame them on Hilary or it's just a few is very telling.

Of course it's horrible. The point is that it's not what drove the voters to Trump.

Hell yes, I condemn these acts. It's horrible and senseless and I completely rebuke this kind of behavior.

Right. Has he said anything about this? Anything at all?

You're still not getting it!

It doesn't matter if it didn't drive you personally or some others to Trump the fact is people who feel this way have been embolden by Trump. They have been received into the group and instead of loudly rejecting them you and others continue to deny it's a problem.

You're twisting the comment. One murder, one rape, one beating, one racist, is all one too many. The comment was to address the poster who blatantly and without facts said that that kind of racist was "NO DOUBT a significant part of the Trump vote."
