Christmas card quandry

My husband's side is Jewish and my side is Catholic/Christian. It was getting to be a big hassle to send out holiday cards, so last year I sent out Happy New Year cards. It was much less stressful and this is what I'm going to do every year from now on.

Look, I have some really religious family members and friends. They send me very religious-themed Christmas cards, with references to the nativity. My uncle sends Christmas cards with "God Bless America" stickers. My mixed-religion friend's family sends New Year's cards. My husband's side of the family usually sends very Catholic cards in Spanish. Our cards are usually of the "peace on earth" variety, because we really like peace. Sometimes we use a photo of our kids with Santa, sometimes not. Your card should reflect YOU and your family. Why should you send a very religious/Catholic card if that doesn't represent your wishes? Why should you send a completely secular card if that's not what you want to share? I've never met anybody offended by Christmas cards. I would just send what you like, and if they have the gall to complain, ignore. Clearly you're not going to find something that pleases everybody, if they're as picky as you say.

I do one that's like "wishing you love" or "season's greetings" and then add the Merry Christmas to my religious relatives who are offended and all about keeping the CHRIST in CHRISTmas.

Pro tip... they get really snippy when you say "merry CHRIST-mas" to their face, lol.

Just wish them all a Merry Christmas if you celebrate Christmas. My Hindu friends wish me a Happy Diwali, and my Muslim friends wish me a Happy Eid. They know I don't celebrate, but so what? I'll take all the wishes I can get!

I do my cards with TinyPrints. They hAve a bunch of ones where you can make one design but proint some cards with "Merry Christmas" and others with "Happy Holidays", same pics, same layout.

Cards are meant for the people you send them to, not the sender. Go back to old school written greeting cards, buy one pack of Jesus-y ones, and one pack of snowman ones. Throw in a photograph of your kids or whatever if you must.

Don't send out Christmas cards. Send them right after Christmas and make the New Years cards. Specifically do a "happy new year" etc message.

I send 'Merry Christmas' cards and if it's a Jewish friend, I write on the inside of the card 'Happy Hanukkah
