white trash is used as an insult. niggas is not between black people. and to be honest, you don't even have to be black to say it. French Montana isn't black - he has the 'nigga' pass though. dj khaled isn't black - he has the nigga pass as well. |
| People of any race using that word make a choice in doing so, and everyone who hears it knows that. i just hope they realize that whatever their race. To me, when it is said in a mixed race environment, it comes off as escalating and isolationist. Unless necessary, I do not interact with people acting in that mode. My AA friends teach their kids never to use the word, and my African friends are just appalled. |
So why do i hear old ass 40 yr olds still saying n this or n that or MF. This big black lady must have been mid or late 30s was saying motherf this and motherf that in every other word as she was talking. Another time another black lady also obese was yelling racist things and calling me motherf after i said excuse me cause she was blocking my way. |
+1 Can someone please start a thread titled "Black People are NOT all the same!" Here are a few examples in case no one believes me. I don't listen to rap music. I prefer Beethoven or Bach or Chopin. I speak proper English. I don't like fried chicken and in fact, I rarely fry anything. I love sushi. I've never been to a club. I had very high SAT scores and graduated in the top 10 percent of my class. I own a house. I'm not on welfare. I usually have to pay taxes. And even though I'm deathly afraid of the police, all interactions have been handled in a calm and respectful manner. White people, are your minds blown????
|
Disagree. They say cuss words as adults if they are enabled as kids. My brother for instance would call me bitch when he was a little kid my mom laughed it off because she didnt know english that well and thought he was saying somethng else well he still uses that and other cuss words freely. Parents have to teach their kids right from wrong. If they are saying cuss words at an early age then they wont respect women or others as adults. |
Ahhh, so I guess this means all black people are the same since you encountered this same behavior with three different black people. And what does the "black lady's" weight have to do with anything? And if I never say the n word, MF, ect then what race am I? Please let me know so I can be sure to check the right box on my college application. |

So the OP heard some youngsters on the Metro using the n-word and is now intrigued about how black people raise their kids. I guess the OP isn't one of those white folks who brags about how many black friends they have. Evidently the OP has no interaction with blacks at all.
Wow...that's amazing that in this day and age in this major metropolitan city someone can be so sheltered that they don't have any contact or camaraderie with blacks in any capacity. No neighbors no colleagues no acquaintances no associates, no personal connections at all to reference and therefore forced to acquire all their impressions of blacks through random sightings on the subway. You need to get out more OP. Expand your circle of friends. Stop and listen to the black men and women around you who speak properly and act professionally. Open your eyes a little more so you can see the black kids and young adults around you who don't epitomize the ghetto stereotypes you're so hard pressed to find. |

i bet O and Holder def drop the n word here or there when they're chillin together in the cut.
When O is playing ball away from the public eye, and only with AA's, you know he's dropping n-this and n-that. |
| Well mannered Black Americans only use the N word around like company. NOT on the metro or in public places. |
Right. What type of dumb ass troll, oh I'm sorry question, is this? |
Anything is possible, but sadly no evidence to substantiate those claims about Obama and Eric Holder talking like that. Just gotta go by good old presumption - that's always reliable when it comes to blacks, right? Funny thing though, don't need any presumption when it comes to good old Donald though. Plenty of concrete evidence out there that prove he isn't above crude and insensitive commentary. But that's okay, I mean it's not like he represents ALL white people. He's an individual. Black people aren't allowed that entitlement. No indeed, some kids on the Metro are the prototype of all blacks in America. Gotta love it. |
I can't speak for all black parents any more than you can speak for all white parents, OP. But of course, foul language in all forms is frowned upon in our AA house. What we emphasize is that repercussions for black people, and males especially, are generally going to be harsher and more swift than they will be for white friends. That extends to language, dress, behavior and a whole host of factors that can't even be expected or anticipated. I recall learning this in kindergarten back in the 1970s. I never would have thought that reality would be even more acute 40 years later, but it seems that it is. My kid is only six, but I can see and hear bad language and behavior from other kids in and around his school and playgrounds we frequent. The earliest eye-opening experience was a 3- or 4-year-old boy who confronted my then-two-year-old with "What are you doing here black boy? You don't belong here." It was said within earshot of his father who was conversing with another parent while we were playing at Walter Pierce park in DC. Nice little liberal enclave full of privileged, educated, well-traveled professionals working at World Bank and the like, which is to say that background and upbringing often doesn't mean squat when it comes to how kids will behave. If you're talking about values that guide behavior, I can say we're doing the best we can. But your conclusion about people "trending right" based on what they observe about a few black kids, along with your assertions about punishment and repercussions based on the use of one word but not overall values is what concerns me most. And I think I speak for a lot of other AA parents out there. It doesn't matter what we teach or how upstanding our kids are, because there's a set of people out there ready to believe the worst and "trend right" whatever that means, before kids even open their mouths. I don't think you can even comprehend what kind of fear that realization brings to parents, but I wish more would understand that it's not very...American. |

Where did your sensitive self read that I said all black people are the same? The whole point of this thread is based on speculation and trying to find out the why's. Statistics do say however that obesity is more prevalent in poorer people meaning that the obese black women cussing like men most likely grew up poor or in single parent households. Never heard a white or other race person be so loud, rude, and racist to me as the fat black woman has been to me. |
yeah,, didn't that comedian call him the n word during a speech and O laughed it off? |
