Christmas in Europe-Where to go

Anonymous
FYI that Britain on the 25th is completely dead. And I mean completely dead. Everything is closed. Public transportation does not run. I love Christmas in Britain but I am always with family and friends and in their houses and being part of their Christmas experiences.

Boxing day is also almost as dead as the 25th as almost all sights will be closed, but is slightly more active. Public transit also has reduced operating hours. Keep this in mind when planning your transportation out of Britain to Normandy.

You may want to consider staying in France for your entire trip. Paris is lovely before Christmas and is not quite as dead on the 25th and 26th is back to normal. What do you wish to see in Normandy? Late December in Normandy is pretty wet and bleak although you can still visit the main sights.

Still open to ideas though. We have already done , Portugal, southern Spain, Rome and Tuscany and Vienna around Christmas in past years.
