The biggest mass shooting in history was perpetrated by our government on the poor Indians at Wounded Knee.

Plus, once they were introduced to rifles - Muskets and repeaters - they became much more effete be hunters and warriors. That's why they wanted rifles so bad

No one would be taking your damn gun away unless you're mentally unstable, committed a crime, or otherwise can't pass a background check - OR are on a terrorist watch list such that you can't get on a plane. And if you are on a watch list - you get a chance to show in impartial court why you should not be.

Look, I don't like the watchlist idea - never have never will - but it makes no sense that people can't get on a plane, but they can buy an arsenal of weapons.

I didn't say it wasn't more effective (although one questions what meat would useful after getting pummeled by an AR-15), I said you could use a bow and arrow, and many did quite effectively to hunt.

And again - no one is taking away your hunting rifle or even your handgun.

Who shoots bear?

Lots of people. Plus in some places bears are considered a nuisance animal. Bear tags aren't expensive here in the commonwealth

There are other ways to deter bears without a gun.

Better utilize US territories so if a person commits a crime using a firearm they're immediately sent to prison not here in the US but in American Samoa. They serve their sentence and then if they want to come back the States they have to put in XX number of hours working for Starkist Tuna to pay off a substantial fine and purchase their own ticket for a return flight.
