I thought he had the surgery?

Yep. I thought he did too. It seems like he was in some sort of cycle with pain medications. I think it's pretty common among people with wealth to have proxies for their medications for one thing so their name does not appear in the records at the drug store. So this is probably a similar MJ situation.

His flu like symptoms were going on for awhile. Some fans or "friends" as he liked to call us, reported that lately when performing certain songs he would well up and almost start to cry. I think he had a lot going on emotionally and physically.

It makes me sick to think of him dying alone in an elevator - just tragic.

That's been done for a week. The results do not have to be released.

It seems clear it was an opioid overdose. So tragic and sad.

When they showed that picture of him supposedly at the Walgreens I was puzzled. Dont they have people for things like that? Famous people have to the Walgreens & pick up their prescriptions like regular smegular people? Does he have a Walgreens discount card? Yes these are the things that I wonder about. Anyway...when they say prescription drugs were in his possession, I'm thinking dont most people of a certain age have prescription drugs in their possession. I have Cymbalta, synthroid, birth control pills. I'm waiting on that coroner's report like Prince was a member of my family.

killed himself-if he was a junkie on the street it would be called that. just because he had money and "people" to manage PR is the only difference.

It takes weeks for the toxicology report to come back from the lab. And I do believe that the final autopsy report with the official cause of death is a public document so any reporter can request a copy.

Toxicology results can take weeks.

If it were AIDS he would not be performing or riding a bicycle a couple days before he died.

If the rx was for opiates, you either have to physically bring in the paper prescription or your de must fax it in. No phoning in or electronic submissions. Perhaps prince actually was bringing in the paper script.

He was admitted for difficulty breathing a couple of weeks before. Respiratory distress from pneumonia can develop very quickly.

Prince was famously low key about his life. He went to church at local JW congregation in the Twin Cities and did volunteer work with the church. He was very much "just folks" about stuff like that. It's part of the reason he lived in the Twin Cities, rather than Hollywood.

Isn't this code for "AIDS related illness?"

Not since 1995.

Which happens to be the year my brother died of AIDS related pneumonia. AIDS deaths continued to go up pretty dramatically after 1995 although treatment also improved.

There was a rumor that Prince stopped taking his AIDS medication.

I think any rumor that refers to HIV as "AIDS" doesn't have a lot of credit.

1995 is the year researchers discovered the combined effects of the "HIV cocktail" were able to bring people back from the brink of death. I know the drug treatment doesn't work for everyone and not everyone can take it, but the vast majority of HIV infected people in this country have benefitted greatly since the implementation of the drug treatment. The number of AIDS-related pneumonia deaths plummeted after that.

Overusing pain medications with a suppressed immune system...

I always wonder how many pills that involves (2 or 20).
