When I adopted the cat we started off with top of the line foods, including wet. He had stomach issues on the top of the line foods. Refused top of the line wet food, they were/are a waste of money. I'm going crazy trying to feed this cat because he will not eat anything but junky cat food. I can't figure out why the good stuff upsets his stomach and the cheap stuff he is fine with.

I was told by the VET that every time you change their food, they can get an upset stomach, so the trick is to mix in the new stuff gradually until its 100 the new stuff so they can acclimatize to it - and give the cat a couple of weeks, if its still causing problems by then you know its the wrong food, otherwise it should be ok.

We have 2 majestic jungle cats. They hate each other and both of them puke on the reg, though for different reasons. One has recently developed some issues which our vet believes are either pre-diabetic or the result of stress. When fed anything other than wet food, he freaks the hell out, screams bloody murder for about 15 minutes, and then vomits, usually on top of the most valuable/urgently needed item nearby. He is 10 years old and has heretofore been fairly healthy. Vet has him on weekly B12 shots and a wet food diet.

The other one is just an asshole. It doesn't matter what we feed her: she eats it so fast that she pukes it up, more or less unchewed, on whatever is closest. For a while she seemed to be making an effort to puke on hardwood or tile, but lately, she seems to be managing to get to a rug just in time. Like I said, asshole.

They both do best on Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers. I get the $18.99 case at Safeway. Recently, I discovered that there were Gravy Lovers other than chicken, turkey and beef. Their Majesties went bananas for the whitefish one, so now I need to figure out where to get that.

Whole Foods' in-house brand (Whole Pets) of grain-free wet food. There are three varieties -- our two cats don't seem to care which is which. They gobble down all of it. They get two cans each a day, divided into morning and evening.

Ha! That's what you think. And how can you resist the eyes? My cat glares at me with such malevolence when she is hungry and I'm not feeding her even if I just fed her and it's something not currently deemed pleasing. One time, I wanted to figure out my cat's preferences for particular fancy feast flavors. I kept a chart day and night about which cans she gobbled up and which ones she turned up her nose. It turns out that she was completely unpredictable. One day she would love chicken and gravy, then the next week, she would get mad if you fed her that flavor. It was baffling.

Will be adding to Rad raw (wet) starting this week. It is sold frozen in 8 oz tubs. Defrost first.

She is now so picky but the water in the wet food is really much, much needed for the house lion.
