What Cat Food Do You Use?

Ferocious House Jaguar has turned his nose up at his dry food and will not touch wet food. What dry food does your cat enjoy?

No dry food, OP. We only use wet food. Better for them.

You say he doesn't like wet food, what kind of wet food are you feeding him? My cat won't touch the stuff that's all mushed up like paté but will scarf down a bowl of any kind of food that had chunks of meat soaking in gravy. And no seafood or fish of any kind- chicken, turkey & beef only.

The house panther has only eaten Purina Complete Cat Chow.

Hi OP, keeper of House Cheetah here. I like the Purina Beyond grain-free formula for him, but to tell you the truth, I don't know if it tastes better or not because 1) he's not picky AT ALL and 2) I haven't tried it myself.

The jaguar should be eating at least some dry food, though- it's better for his teeth (as per my vet). I hope you find one that he likes!

We feed Orijen, both cat and dog. Apparently, according to the felines, canine Orijen tastes better than feline. And vice versa.


They also get a tiny bit of wet food each day - about a tablespoon between them morning and evening.

For dry food, we used to feed Evo until they discontinued their weight control formula (their other formulas are still available if weight isn't an issue for you). Now we feed Wellness. Both were recommended by our vet.

We feed Royal Canin dry food and Fancy Feast wet food.

We used to feed our Domesticated Junior Lions just dry food but our new vet recently recommended a mixed diet (wet and dry). We feed them Science Diet, which is pricey put they seem to like it.

No dry food either. Cats are obligate carnivores and must eat meat so it is not natural for them to eat carbs. Also, as formerly desert mammals, they have a very low,thirst drive and will not typically get enough water in them unless they eat wet food only. We even add water and mix it into the canned food. Our cats eat grain free Natural Balance duck and green pea, chicken and green pea, and some third flavor, which is some other source of protein plus green pea.

Peas are carbs.
