So how many msgs asking to buy MLM stuff or join the team does it take for you to not be friends?

One FB acquaintance (friend from HS) is constantly posting about something called Thrive (looks like a patch or something? Supposedly helps you lose weight and fill in nutrition gaps or something). It looks super sketchy.

It's really not a question of whether the products are good or bad. It's that I have made it clear multiple times that I am not interested.

SEVEN of my FB friends (all people I knew in college and one neighbor) all sell R+F. They all post almost exactly the same thing at the same time every day. Maddening.

The R&F people are the worst.

I'm sorry. Your photo-shopped before and after photos aren't fooling anyone.

And then they send you "personal" messages about how cute your kids are and did you know I'm selling R&F so I can give you a free skin evaluation. And then posting some junky looking Kate Spade bracelet they got for getting enough pansies to join the pyramid below them.

Also, essential oils don't kill cancer.

I love the LulaRoe leggings though, so soft and cozy.

I used to live near a military community which was chock full of MLM sellers. I avoided the R+F gals like the plague - they were nice, but the hard sell was unbelievable and neverending.

I do miss the Usborne books, though. At one book fair, I bought about 25 books for my kids, to have around the house as impromptu gifts, and for my nephew. Does anyone know a seller in the Reston/Fairfax/Herndon/Oakton/Vienna area? I have zero interest in selling or hosting, but I'm a big fan of the product.

+1. I had a friend from college who is now a military spouse always posting about thrive. I had to hide all of her posts they were so irritating.

I also know a beach bodier who is not pushy but I find the constant posts about "health" irritating - they come off as so self-righteous saying it's about health when it's clear the point is to look sexy (it's called beachbody ffs) from drinking some shake product.

Ha! And what happens when they're in the office WITH you? Happens all the time at work.

I think this is what bothers me the most about it. The posts about how the person changed their life, is grateful for someone showing them this world etc...and the daily posts about how they are on top of the world, don't need to drink coffee anymore, are such a better mother and wife etc... Like give me a break. I'm glad you feel like something is working for you but you don't get to shame everyone else acting like this is the only answer to every problem. Its a shake, containers for food and new dvds you buy each month. Its maddening.

There isn't a week that goes by that I don't get a Facebook msg, text or phone call about a party, new items, promotions etc. I have told each of these friends over and over again that I am not interested and will never be interested. I really feel like now I have lost all respect for them since they can't respect my request. So now I'm just ready to say straight up that we can no longer be friends. Like seriously. If this is all you are now, I'm done. Does anyone else feel like they are literally just being asked to give their friends money? Because that is how it feels to me. Do people not realize when they get sucked into these things that they will lose friends?

You sound pretty slow, honey. Want to move on? For Pete's sake, simply move on and stop bitch*ng

Lol - hit a nerve, trashy seller, did she?

Yes, "honey" poster. What crap do you sell? We know you're one of these annoying people. Op, I would be pissed if these were my friends and they ignored my direct communication. I would tell them that their behavior was going to end your relationship and if that had no impact, eff em.

Rodan & Fields

+1 to R&F. The pushiest one. I ignore all her FB messages about "joining her team". PASS!

I have another friend who sells Stella and Dot and she just posts about sales and the products, but isn't nearly as annoying. She's also never approached me directly to host or "join her team" or anything, so her posts don't bother me at all.

The Stella and Dot sellers bother me because I love jewelry and for the price of their crappy jewelry I am able to buy 14-18k jewlery with real stones at my favorite stores. My friends aren't as pushy as the juicers and weightloss crazies, but one friend gets her feelings so hurt when I turn down her invites. I know for her first events, no one showed up. 4 years later and she's still trying to sell the stuff and is as unsuccessful as when she started. She is a single parent and needs the money. I don't understand her thinking.

Even the jewelry at Macy's is cheaper. I have a couple of nice jewelry / pawn shop kind of places where the jewelry is so well priced, it's ridiculous to consider their stuff.

The only "friend" I have who sells and has been at all aggressive about it is R+F. You can block someone from sending you messages on FB, and that's what I did after she continued to message me after I politely declined. The others just add me to "parties" occasionally, and I remove myself from those.

I will admit to liking a few Lularoe pieces, but I bought those off FB from sellers, no party involved.

Yes the Stella and dot stuff looks and feels so cheap and its expensive! I don't know how any of that stuff sells.

I have a cousin that sells Nerium and it's so uncomfortably annoying. She is totally brainwashed.

The worst is when she posts links to so-called testimonials from blogs, therefore, it's another endorsement. Except all that the blog does and is review EVERY friggin product of this kind, in order to generate clicks.

The other is the comments in the woman's blog, it's not even the slightest bit subtle when you have actual Nerioum sellers that talk about their effing "Brain Fog" and how unfocused Larla was, until they started taking the special Nerium pill.

"message me for a free sample today!"

I'm sorry, "unfocused" kids really shouldn't be taking a pill from a cosmetics company, call me judgmental.

As I type this, the woman in the office next to mine has taken over our shared break room with her essential oils crap. So embarrassing.
