So how many msgs asking to buy MLM stuff or join the team does it take for you to not be friends?

Anonymous
If I had that many friends doing it at the same time I would use that as a way to try to end it.

I'd send them all an email (you can bcc them and do it all as once) and say "Hi All, I'm sending you all this message as you are all friends of mine who are selling products in one way or another, and who all have invited me to events I have had to decline.

I value you all as friends, which is part of why I am simply going to opt out of all of these invitations. I cannot afford, nor do I need, what it would take to support all of you, and I really don't want to be in the position of deciding who I am or am not going to support.

So I wish you all the very best in your sales, but am asking you to remove me from your prospect lists (or at least understand why you can count on me declining invites to sales parties.)

Thanks for respecting my position."

I have a friend who is selling "credit reporting" services. I constantly see updates on fb about this. She even has her FI, a DC Police officer promoting the servicesame during some of the calls, so she says. I really want to spend time with the two of them, but I'm afraid that our time will be spent talking about this service that I don't care about.

I just remove myself from the groups I get added to and say not interested when asked directly. It's not that difficult.

I didn't say it was hard. It's annoying and disrespectful to keep bothering your friends about something you have said you are not interested in. It has nothing to do with it being "hard."

There isn't a week that goes by that I don't get a Facebook msg, text or phone call about a party, new items, promotions etc. I have told each of these friends over and over again that I am not interested and will never be interested. I really feel like now I have lost all respect for them since they can't respect my request. So now I'm just ready to say straight up that we can no longer be friends. Like seriously. If this is all you are now, I'm done. Does anyone else feel like they are literally just being asked to give their friends money? Because that is how it feels to me. Do people not realize when they get sucked into these things that they will lose friends?

You sound pretty slow, honey. Want to move on? For Pete's sake, simply move on and stop bitch*ng

Are you 80? Just curious.

Just curious- what products are they selling? I have some friends into 'essential' oils but they haven't been pushy. I used to get invited to FB 'parties' for Jamberry but haven't in awhile.

+1 to R&F. The pushiest one. I ignore all her FB messages about "joining her team". PASS!

I have another friend who sells Stella and Dot and she just posts about sales and the products, but isn't nearly as annoying. She's also never approached me directly to host or "join her team" or anything, so her posts don't bother me at all.

I'm too busy in an office setting to sell or buy things. Sorry, I'm in a meeting. Sorry, I have a meeting to go to.

The Usborne books I actually like and have bought from FB parties before.

One FB acquaintance (friend from HS) is constantly posting about something called Thrive (looks like a patch or something? Supposedly helps you lose weight and fill in nutrition gaps or something). It looks super sketchy.

With the exception of the books most of that stuff is such complete and utter crap. And you have people claiming that essential oils cure every disease under the sun it's ridiculous

Same. The R&F is the WORST. One person I know literally posted "I have big personal news I'll share in 2 months, something I never could have done at my full time job before R&F!!" She has her husband in on it too, poor bastard.
