How Short/Tall?

Anonymous
Me 5' 3" DH 5'11" -- never dated anyone shorter than 5'9" because they're the only ones who asked me out or whom I asked out. BFD!

When will these threads stop?

And, women who don't want short kids, be careful--my mom (a small petite women who married a 6'4" big guy) didn't want a short son, but what she got was an average size size son and a daughter who is tall and muscular. I could probably beat my brother up easily, not that I would.

I'm 5'3" and like a PP when I was young I preferred guys who were not too tall. I didn't like feeling tiny next to big guys. I had several boyfriends who were around 5'5", 5'6" and married one of them. Now that I'm middle aged and single again, I've learned to like the tall guys and have dated a couple of guys over 6 feet.

But- but- but... I thought all women's dating prospects dried up like a prune left in the sun as soon as they hit 30, let alone middle age!

PP, there are going to be some very angry men chiming in in 3, 2, 1 about how it's not true because no man will date an older women and blah blah blah...

But from a younger woman, I say get it girl!!!

Is your dad really dissapointed in his son/your bro?

I'm 5"8" and my husband is 6'1" I never dated anyone shorter than me, but no one shorter than me ever asked me out! I don't think most men want to date women taller than them.

seems like boys take after the mom's height. My DH is over 6'. I'm 5'. DS, 11, is tracking average height, which is fine, but my DD seems to be following after her dad; she's on the tall side.

My first husband was 6'2" - we have two sons who are 6' and 5'8" - I'm 5'7". I was surprised because my brother is 6'5" and both granddads were 6'2" one grandma was 5'8" and the other about 5'2"

My second husband is a doctor who is 5'4" on a good day and hung like a horse. He has more of a problem about height than I do. He is aware that his bottom half is circus sized.

Who knew?

Uh oh, you're going to piss off a lot of hypocrites.....prepare for the onslaught!

Who will be pissed off and who is a hypocrite? Did the OP not ask about height? It's well known most men don't like fat women, I don't think that comes as any surprise.

It is the exact reason why a man would choose a thin woman with an eating disorder and issues and stay with her over someone who was 20 pounds overweight

OMG, this? Again? How many times do we need to tell you that there are plenty of women out there who will not place much value on your height? Geez, talk about inferiority complex!

I'm one of the people who said I hoped my kids were a little taller but I wouldn't at all say "I don't want short kids" ... For the sake of being able to buy clothes and reach things I was hoping they would be a bit taller than me but I'm not one of these crazies who insisted on marrying tall on hopes of it!

Really? At 5'4"? Maybe he's average and it just looks big on his small frame?

Not PP, but it's possible. My DH is over 6' but his is bordering average/small, and it's not just how it looks on his frame.

My husband is 5'8", and I'm just a hair under. The tallest guy I dated was 6'4". I've never had any preferences about height.
