OMG Miss Universe

After Miss Colombia was crowned, she waved for over 2 minutes before Steve came back.
Why did it take so long for them to react???

Whoever wrote the card must not have gotten the memo that Miss Philippines should be this year's Miss Universe.

It's like the 1958 first Tchaikovsky piano competition in Moscow. Lev Vlasenko was going to be awarded. Nobody knew that the 23 year old, tall, good looking American, Van Cliburn will take over the popular vote. So the jury members had to talk to the KGB, who called president Khrushchev, and after a very long wait, Cliburn was awarded the Gold medal.

What?? I'm sure there were all sorts of major craziness back stage. I'm sure they were trying to figure out how to best fix this horrible mistake.

He just left them there. So awkward. Hold their hands talk to them something.

Did you watch it? The card was correct. Obviously he read it wrong, they did the whole thing and then someone backstage told him and was like you better go fix this. So incredibly awkward. To their credit, the women handled it as well as possible.

I think that both of those young women handled that beautifully and with grace. And actually the former Miss Universe did a great job too.

Wow.

I was able to find a much better video, shows 5 minutes of the incident, no stupid people screaming on the sofa.

I can't believe how long Miss Columbia celebrated before Steve Harvey walked out to say that he f*cked up.

I agree it was a publicity stunt. A nod to Miss USA, and awful moment for Miss Columbia, and then the big mistake. I thought the pageant was very poorly run in the first place. Many of the contestants did not even look like they were representatives of their country. Miss mixed world...Miss Japan was blasian, Miss Thailand was Wasian, Miss Australia was eastern European, Miss France was black, Miss Nigeria was mixed, Miss the island country was mixed. There was an over representation of South America, and Miss Philippines had big jizzely fake boobs. And Miss Columbia had a mans face and an arrogant attitude. So it was a pretty mixed bag. meanwhile, many beautiful women were passed over. Miss Sweden, Miss India, Miss Venezuela, and on and on.

Agreed. He got the ultimate moment that the show builds up to completely, horribly wrong, and in the process embarrassed two young women. What a horrible moment. It was the most cringeworthy thing I've seen in recent memory.

The original winner was beautiful. Harvey was just seeing what everybody else was thinking.

He must have been under the influence of something

Or maybe he just assumed the hotter candidate was the winner...
