So how do you do laundry? Whites, Colours, towels, underwear separate?

white underwear & socks -- hot water and bleach
dark underwear & socks -- hot water and vinegar
towels -- hot water and vinegar
colorful clothing -- warm water and vinegar
delicates -- warm wash /cool rinse and vinegar
sheets -- hot water and vinegar
Almost everything line dried.

Only a Neanderthal does their own laundry.

I wash everything in warm and I don't separate. Never had an issue.

Bedding, towels, pajamas, workout clothes (mostly colours) : warm water
Light delicates : cold water
Dark delicates : cold water

I have a ton of delicates so I don't even bother washing any normal clothes in warm water. I work in an office setting so my clothes don't really get that dirty - if I'm doing yard work or something then I'll probably wash on hot water, but then again I'm not likely to be wearing delicates for activities like that so it works out. I avoid hand washing like the plague and have found that the delicate cycle works well for most if not all the clothes they tell you to hand wash.

I actually separate clothes by family member, all in cold. Much easier to put away. Sheets and son's socks the only things that get washed in extra hot water.

Darks on warm - jeans, dark socks and underwear, dark sweats and t-shirts, dark kitchen towels

Light delicates on warm - light baby clothes, DH's non-iron dress shirts, my light delicates

Dark delicates on warm or cold - dark baby clothes, my dark delicates, yoga pants

We usually end up with two whites loads and one each of the others.

Darks on cold or the colors bleed.

I am admittedly high maintenance when it comes to laundry and also have a tiny Euro washing machine so I usually have separate loads for:

1. Whites/lights/warm (kids clothes, sheets and towels mainly)
2. Whites/lights/cold (delicate fabrics and/or things I don't want to shrink)
3. Darks/warm (mostly kids clothes)
4. Darks/cold (mainly my stuff)

DH does his own laundry.

I only put sheets and towels, socks and underwear, and the kids pants/jeans in the dryer. I hang dry everything else.

Surprised that we have yet to hear from the psycho who thinks anyone who doesn't wash their underwear separately from all other laundry is gross.
