How much do you spend on Christmas presents?

We have no children but I usually spend about $100 on my godson.
Recently married into 3 nephews and 1 niece, last year spent about $200 including shipping sending their toys.
$250 on two sets of parents, usually dinner/movie gift cards
$200 between 4 siblings/in-laws
Then I usually spend around $200 for wrapping, ribbons, bows, cards and some kind of baking project for aunts/uncles/cousins and fave colleagues (one year I did pies in mini jars, another bread loaves, baileys nips and hot choc in mugs, etc)
DH and I went a little crazy for our first married Christmas, also our first physically being together on the holidays so we spent about $500-$750 on each other

How much to charity?

New poster here. I give nothing to charity. Nada, zilch.

I help my family out and that is my charity.

Last time I checked there is no law or even social norm requiring anyone to donate money to charity. As a matter of fact most charities are run horribly with a ton of overhead and waste and not much trickling doen to the intended recipients.

I am budgeting $850 for gift, tips for people who work for me, teacher gifts, office Secret Santa x2, and Christmas cards, with postage.

This matters why? MYOB. There is no charity obligation. Doesn't make you a better person if you prioritize charity over doing something nice for family. Different priorities.

It matters because I spend less on Christmas presents because I make major charitable contributions at year end, and was wondering if that impacted anyone else's Christmas shopping. Go back to your heedless materialism if this doesn't apply to me.

About $1,000 all together. HHI is about $225K (H is in sales so it varies).

It would only impact me if you were one of those dumbasses that gives me a card that says "in lieu of a gift we have made a $500 donation to the Human Fund". I'd probably give you a nicely wrapped turd next year.

HHI of $250k, we spend around $1,200 in total for Christmas. We have 1 DD but 5 nieces/nephews, 5 siblings, 3 cousins and parents. We spend $350 on DD and a range of $50-$100 on the others (sometimes more).

Parents $600 -1000 for both
Sister $200-300
Cousins who I speak to $25-40 each
Family friends $50 each or less
Friends $50 or less each
Friends children no more than $30 total per family. So if you have 5 kids you may get a toy to share or small giftcards per child
Grandparents $300 total
Husband $1000 or similar . Usually car stuff

30/f Income $120ish

Wow. That really adds up. Do you save for this or use a credit card?

Same here...cutting back this year.
