This matters why?   MYOB.    There is no charity obligation.   Doesn't make you a better person if you prioritize charity over doing something nice for family.   Different priorities.

It matters because I spend less on Christmas presents because I make major charitable contributions at year end, and was wondering if that impacted anyone else's Christmas shopping. Go back to your heedless materialism if this doesn't apply to me.[/quote]
It would only impact me if you were one of those dumbasses that gives me a card that says "in lieu of a gift we have made a $500 donation to the Human Fund".  I'd probably give you a nicely wrapped turd next year.
