What are you talking about? It was in the newsletter thing, discussed at the coffee and in the directory. Not everyone can or wants to teach at the high school level. And certainly not green green teachers.

Arlene Randall is a bulldog. If she knew one of her teachers had sexually molested kids, she would probably castrate him herself. She's not to be messed with and I love her for it.

The Scuba escapades were not alarming - my DC took piano lessons for years with one of her elementary teachers who had a business on the side.

He taught at both Langley and Cooper simultaneously, at least in the 2013/14 school year. The schools are about a mile apart and do share some teachers, although it's not common. At back to school night German class, his replacement (a wonderful teacher) said she had been teaching elsewhere in FCPS (some sort of non-classroom program) and that she found out with a week's notice she'd be back in the classroom. Lots of parents looking at each kind of saying WTF? She basically said I've been thrown into this with no warning, but I've taught it before so we'll just make it work.

There was never any kind of communication to Cooper parents that I am aware of.

I didn't know him at all. I simply meant that some teachers do teach other stuff on the side. That part isn't unusual.

We had one potentially major issue brewing for my kid at Cooper. I dialed Arlene's number fully prepared to leave a message or talk to an assistant and then probably be told nothing could be done. Instead, Arlene not only answered her phone directly, she got my kid's file while we were on the phone and worked out the issue on-the-spot. No problem. She rocks like that.

Seems like the German teacher made quickie exit, or else a parent was going to report him to the authorities for messing with his kid at scuba. This seems really awful, PP. I hope you and maybe other parents will share this stuff with the authorities.
