backsplashes that make me want to scream

I think that subway tiles are pretty classic. I like marble subway tiles a lot.

+1

slab or subway

I think solid glass backsplashes are clean and pretty.

Me, too. And so much grout.

I love our limestone tile backsplash.

Yes, what are alternatives? I thought subway was supposed to be timeless in kitchens?

Or 4 inch square tiles.

I feel like subway tile reminds me of a public restroom,

I prefer Tuscan or Mediterranean but I know people will get mad at me cause it isn't subway

^I like Tuscan, too. It's what we have as a backsplash. Everyone seems to like it.

That tuscan kitchen is a major turn off to me. So heavy!

I don't. It looks SO dark and masculine. Not calming or relaxing. Just not a fan of the tuscan look. My kitchen in 2004 had those tumbled marble tiles. They're cheap and easy at least to install.

Here's a cool idea:

Oh, ok, I've seen those. What's wrong with them again? I don't have them, but they don't seem that bad to me, a bit dizzying, but I like the glass tile look. Maybe more appropriate for a bathroom?

We put those in when we redid our kitchen a year ago. I spent hours at the tile store and could not find anything I liked besides that. Patterns like those work because you can echo the floor, cabinet, counter color. In 25 years when it's somebody else's kitchen they can pick what they like. I don't care if others like it or not. Our house is for us and I have better things to do than spend hours on the computer looking at Houzz.

Pegboard is basically heavy duty cardboard. It will not stand up to water. Cute but stupid.

Couldn't it be covered with some kind of waterproof paint?
