Opinion on this Indian name?

Anonymous
This is almost my exact name and spelled that same way.

When people ask how to pronounce it, I typically say just like you would pronounce rain.

Seems so easy to pronounce but I find people want to complicate it, such as Rah-ee-nah. I have heard the Rye.nuh version as well.

I still love it. Go for it OP.

Funny story along the lines of this being an Indian name (I am not Indian BTW) my kindergarten teacher used to call me Indira. She was a very old Caucasian woman.
Oh Mrs. Hymann.

Yes, it's amazing the ways people will find to mispronounce names!! I have an Indian name that's spelled phonetically...I really can't figure out any other way to sound out the letters of my name than two possible pronunciations, both of which I'm fine with. But it's amazing what people will call me...switching around sounds and adding letters that don't exist in my name. Basically any name, with any number of syllables, that starts with the same letter as my name seems to be fair game. An analogy would be people calling me Isabel when my name is Indira. It's very strange, but it's life.

The Indian community in which I grew up seems to think there are only a handful of names of white men...so when my sister got married they got cards addressed to a whole bunch of Mikes, Marks, Daves (BIL's name is none of those). When I got married, about half of the cards were addressed to me and my BIL's name

I love all the names you selected. All pretty and feminine. I know two Jewish women named Rayna.

It's not muslim at all

I knew a Laila from the Middle East. I always thought of it as a Muslim name.

So, is Raina related to Ralitsa? That was a Bulgarian lady who used to be on CNN.

Raina--cute!
Layla--nice, but I can't get the Eric Clapton song out of my head and that makes me not like it as much
Mia--dislike, just makes me think of Mamma Mia
Sarina--cute!
Mira--my favorite on your list
Anya--it's ok

It's Meera and Aanya , not Mira and Anya. The only name I've had enough of is Maya. That and Neil for a boy.

That is your opinion, many people spell it Mira.

Of course Mira is an acceptable spelling.

Laila is an Arabic name. It means 'night' in Arabic. I think the pp you were posting after said "Raina" is not really a Middle Eastern/Muslim name...

It is a Hindu name.

In Hindi it means night.

It's also an Arab name that means queen, and as a PP mentioned Reina is a Spanish version, which also means queen.

Nope, the Arabic word for queen is Rania (RA-knee-uh) -- like the Queen of Jordan. Raina (RAY-nuh), OP's top choice, is a different name.
