| If private colleges will STOP taking any federal money, they can admit whomever they want based on whatever criteria (including illegal racially discriminatory criteria) they want to use. |
Amen. |
| Wow - such s sense of entitlement from these stellar test takers. I can see why the college's want an out from this culture of self importance. |
There was a time when people were dismissive of challenges to segregation and other policies as well. We shall overcome this racial discrimination in college admissions too. |
that would never happen. private colleges get to be in the best of both worlds. Take federal money and practice holistic admissions.
I believe Fisher II next year will see the scotus really curtailing, if not banning, affirmative action for public flagships across the country. I also believe the fallout will be that privates will move to increase holistic admissions. |
| Why so much hate for Indian Americans? Is it our success? |
It's not just Indian Americans, it's all Asian Americans. Success breeds envy and jealousy. |
Truth. As a white, Jewish woman, I feel it started with Jews, who are like Bobo the Clown dolls - punch us to the ground and we bounce right back up. And we are hated for that type of resiliency. Indian American and Asian Americans work hard. Very hard. They emphasize the importance of education and hard work to their children. And somehow that gives them an unfair advantage, enough that points are deducted from their SAT scores? This is the highest level of BS, to penalize kids like this. The bottom line is this type of racism is rampant in liberalism, and it's those liberals who are pushing this 'holistic' admissions BS. It's their way of controlling college populations to ensure they fit into their little stereotypical boxes, so they can continue to move kids through the system like sheep. Colleges don't want independent thinkers anymore. |
| As an Indian American then, I seriously question my place in this country. Are we wanted? I am tired of putting up with these barbs and casual racism. |
You have a choice, you know. Everyone has a choice. |
+1. Truly sad, isn't it? |
very nice pp... passive racism.
|
Definitely so. In what world is it OK to take points OFF a score simply because of race? Or for that matter, ADD points? |
|
All it means is that they consider the stuff that grades and tests scores don't cover.
The rich and influential will always get in- no matter what the criteria. |
They consider those stuff not equally based on race. |
