Why are all Republicans generally undereducated and/or old?

Lol. I think I'm socially liberal and fiscally conservative. I lean Republican. I'm 40, working full time, 2 kids. OP might be troll or maybe just simple.

OP is not the simple one here, PP - do you really think that using yourself as an example proves anything? And how does having two children and a job prove you are not undereducated?! LOL

The truth is that the Republican party is made up of older Americans - Reince Priebus has stated that (and that it is a problem). I would also guess that the majority are undereducated (holding a high school diploma or less) based on the voting patterns.

The "why" has not been answered but the premise of the question is true.

Old people are repubs? I know so many 60 and 70 year old liberals...hippies from the 1960s who are uber liberal.

If fit is true that young people vote dem- Godspeed. The generations of selfish, lazy, Internet and selfie addicted brats that are dem voters truly are awful. Dems can have them.

I'd rather have intelligent farm animals and dogs as my voting base, seriously.

Contradictions -fiscal conservatism stifles social liberalism.

Same.

OP's statement was his/her experience more than generalization. But I understand why you would take it as a generalization rather than continue a conversation with experience in mind.

Once met a highly educated young Republican who agreed that too many Reps are undereducated and even apologized for it.
I was surprised how well traveled and well-rounded he was and without saying a word he understood that I just met my 1st Rep of sort. I think he had even been to my tiny country.

That's amazing. I once met a Dem who told me that he knew that dem pols pandered to the votes of uneducated minorities and that Dems used these uneducated and barely literate voters to maintain power.

He also said that the hordes of ghetto and barrio dwelling dem voters will perpetuate their ignorance to their many children, and give Dems a built in voting base, based on poorly educated urban hordes of unmarried women and irresponsible men.

I too, was amazed at his candor.

I don't know why. It wasn't always this way. I am sixty and an admitted Liberal/Yellow Dog Democrat but I knew many educated, articulate and progressive Republicans in my youth. Not true anymore. It is the party of bitter old white guys and rednecks now. William F Buckley would be horrified.

They aren't.

Another thread making fun of the way Republicans/Conservatives are phrasing their ridiculous "questions" in the subject line.

I have met a few of these too, including ones who admit they think Americans are stupid and uneducated and need their lives micromanaged by smart PHd holding Dems such as themselves!

Wrong.

Anonymous wrote:This is analogous to Republicans who say that all Democrats are on welfare.

Both examples are ridiculous.

Most wealthy people tend to vote Republican and unless they inherited their wealth, it was achieved as a result of their education and career success.

In simpler terms many people tend to vote according to what benefits them most financially.

This. It is true now but it wasn't always this way.
