Certainly don't. I tell the young ladies at work how pretty they look. They do look cute (they are nice smart girls - professionals). They should enjoy their time.

OP, you really need to think about why you have these sorts of thoughts. Do you want to resent 50-year-olds when you're 80?

THIS. What if someone "missed out" (or thinks they did!) Do you think that makes them bitter - to see a young woman who "has it all" (in the older womans' minds)? Do you think many older women are bitter? Why or why not?

It is silly to resent anyone for their age but especially when you are old enough to be their mom... say about 18 year age gap or more. So technically starting at 35 yo, you should take the high ground and stop being insecure. After 40, you are out of child bearing age and should focus on career and hobbies.

I used to be annoyed by the über fit parents at my school, men and women. However I watched them age to about 48 and they all miraculously lose whatever figure they had.

So now when I see the new batch of über fits, I just smile to myself and think enjoy it while it lasts.

No, but I've witnessed older women who resent younger women. We had our day, let them have theirs.

I don't care about how these young women look in my office.

I do get pissed at the poor work attitudes of some millenials. They are like little kids. They have no understanding that perhaps the 40+ crowd may have been there, done that, and understand things that the millennials don't. They have no concept of the wisdom that comes with age. And they don't even pretend to respect their elders.

I don't hate or even feel bitter to younger women at all. I am very happy as a 49 year old mother of three amazing kids. I enjoy every day of my life and have no desire to go back. Every thing led me to where I am now and it was all awesome, good times and bad. Frankly, I don't give strangers much of a thought at all. Certainly wouldn't waste any negative energy worrying about them.

I'm only 40, but I feel this way. I'm not envious of the beautiful 20 something's, but I really notice how obliviously entitled they are about life. It probably bothers me because I was that way once!

The flip side can also be true--younger women resenting older women for their professional accomplishments, money, confidence and security. Neither are healthy approaches to life.
