Hi OP... I have a backsplash very similar to what you posted. I would be happy to share a picture so you can see what it looks like on the wall, but I have no idea how to post a picture. Can I upload a picture from my phone? If someone would be kind enough to provide some picture posting instructions, I'll post my backsplash. |
This might work: upload your photo to something like Photo Bucket. Edit size of your photo so it's not so big, then copy photo bucket's picture code for "share on forum. Use "Img" above to link code. Some places you just put up the code directly. I'm sure there are directions on how to post a photo on this site at the top of instructions for website. |
OP here- here is my kitchen now, and here is a picture of the counter close up- and ignore my mess!

We have that exact backsplash you posted first and cleaning it isn't an issue. We love ours. |
Do you think it would look good in my kitchen (photo above)? |
Not pp. But I think the first backsplash would look really nice in your kitchen. Pretty kitchen, btw. |
I would just touch up the paint and be done with it. I'd add crown molding to the cabinets if you can figure out the brand, etc. and get a larger light fixture for the island. I'd add some throw rugs and cover up the glass since you are not using the cabinets for decorative only. |
PP here. I think it would look good. I like that it ties everything together in my kitchen without looking obtrusive. I wasn't a fan of the clustered tiles/mosaic look either. |
OP, I like your pick also. If you're happy with it, I'd go with it. Nice Koi Green paint btw. |
I am eventually going to change the pendant light, but I am saving that as my "reward" for when I change the backsplash. I'm not adding a rug- this is a working kitchen with a lot of spills and messes and a rug is going to get really nasty really quickly. And covering the glass! No. I'm not staging the house, I live in it and it looks that way! And adding moulding is way too much effort for too little payoff. |
OP, it's refreshing to hear someone who knows what she wants, and what she doesn't. Especially when it comes to kitchens, and yours looks and feels very warm and inviting to me. |
I do not like the rustic, pitted stone tile you picked, and I think it will look dirty quickly. |
My backsplash is similar to what you pictured. Ours basically takes the place of paint as you can see. It's not hard to clean. In fact, it always looks clean. [img] ![]() />[/img] |
OP here. I love your kitchen, pp! Question: what color grout did you use, and did it hold up well? I especially love the tile mural above the stove, that is just the perfect "special" touch, you know? My goal is to have a kitchen like yours- basically appealing to anyone (for if/when I sell), but still warm and with little special details here and there. |
OP, I love the wall color and think it's great with your cabinets! Not sure how to advise re the backsplash because I haven't had any experience with a tile backsplash. |
