Bought IKEA daybed and mattress and it stinks

Thanks so much for your help. The bed does say it’s pine. The mattress is their foam twin mattress: think it’s spelled Mistervik or something.

Is it this bed?

If so, we have it in our house. I don't remember it having strong odor. If it ever did, it doesn't any longer.

pretty sure ikea now has a 365 day return policy. bring back the mattress and get a regular one.

We just bought the Hemnes daybed in grey because I only buy solid wood furniture at IKEA, and it smells lovely - pine.

The mattresses that went with the daybed are the white ones, and they smelled plasticky, as is usual with such material wrapped in plastic, but 3 weeks out the smell as dissipated.

What you describe is unusual and I would return it.

how long did it take to put together. considering getting it but the assembly looks like it's a pain.

Where did you buy yours from? I bought mine in NY. I got the mistervik mattress

Yup bought it took 3 to 4 hours to assemble that god damn thing.
Then as our kids rooms have carpet. The friggin thing won't roll out properly and then warps the drawers so they won't close properly.
Trying with ikea to take back their crap as well mayne they need to put on their website that they are made for hardwood and not carpet.
That way a person doesn't go through all the bullshit to find out that its garbage

I'd get rid of it asap if he's coughing and getting a runny nose from it. These kind of exposures can lead to health problems.
