It's not a claim. It's fact. If you know anything about Montessori, LAMB is definitely Montessori lite. Some people want that, but Montessori purists don't.

PP:can you explain how LAMB is montessori lite? We are a LAMB family. I have read several books on montessori and when I visit the LAMB classrooms, I don't see the lite part. What are the specific things done in a LAMB classroom that are different from a traditional montessori classroom?

This is not a defensive question. After a year of reading on this board that LAMB is montessori lite, I am honestly very curious about what I am missing here.....

Lamb is not Montessori-lite. There is always some angry poster who makes this claim which is later shut down by parents who actually know the school.

OP since you are already a Stokes parent do you know of anyone else that might be leaving? We have a really low PreK3 wait list number for our DC and I am wondering if we should give up hope or continue to believe she might get in this school year?

I think you all may be talking about two different things. #1-27 from the lottery list were filled immediately. It was then stuck at #32 for several weeks. Now it is at #36.

I just spoke with them and they gave us our WL # of very low 20s. If you add that number to 36, it equals our original number.

Did they think you still had a good shot? Fingers crossed!

OP here. Sorry, i don't. We were waitlisted at first as siblings this year . I would try again next year and K. We tried for two years before getting in. There is always the possibility that current families can move out of DC, which is what got us off the waitlist with DC1 (I only know this because I knew the family that moved). We also got in a week into school. It is likely at that point that, if the waitlist starts to move, it moves quickly bc the other waitlisted parents have already been placed somewhere and don't want to move their kids. I hope this helps!
