| Married to immersion, not to montessori (although I think my child would benefit from it). Just got off the WL for one, older sib goes to the other so we were already in there. Neither choice would impact commute much since they are both in the neighborhood. Thoughts? |
| Go to where older sib goes |

You're crazy for even considering this. Lamb.
Actually stokes so I can take your lamb spot. |
| Lamb |
| But do you really want kids in two schools OP? Is the older sib on the pk4 wait list? I wouldn't want my kids at two different schools for all of elementary. |
| LAMB would be my choice but not if a sibling attends another school. Some poster(s) always claims LAMB is not real Montessori anyway if that's your only reason for choosing. |
| Keep in mind that while Stokes and LAMB's Perry street location are relatively close to each other, LAMB may move to Walter Reed. Depending on where you live, dropping off at both schools may not work. |
It's not a claim. It's fact. If you know anything about Montessori, LAMB is definitely Montessori lite. Some people want that, but Montessori purists don't. |
| If you could really care a less, go to Stokes and make life Easier for yourself. We're a LAMB family and love it, but know families happy at Stokes. There very different schools, but both good. I'd err on the side of convenience. |
I think I would be more concerned about my kid having a good education rather than some accreditation, but whatever. I would go for lamb too. |
you people really think she should separate where the kids go to school, knowing the older child will NEVER be in lamb? I suppose you can look forward to 6th grade, but who know about DCI and that is a long way off for two commutes, two PTAs, two entire communities... |
| Stokes. |
I guess in that case you'd have to ask yourself why you entered the lamb lottery in the first place. |

OP here. Yes, I am okay with separating the two if it is well worth it. We live 5 min from both and I'll be working at home from Sept-Dec. We also have 2 drop-offs currently (DC1 at one school, DCs 2&3 at a daycare). I like school A for my current child, but school B might fit the other a bit better. I am interested to hear from anyone who has made a similar decision, though - it is worth reconsidering if people have had a hard time with this. My sense is that if it is just too much on us and not worth it, we can switch next year since school A offers us sibling preference. My kids are 4 years apart, so they won't be in middle or HS together ever, but we do have a third who will start a year after DC2 who we will put at the same school as DC2.
It does give me pause that the campus close to us (NE) only goes up to 3rd. The other LAMB campus is not close to us and I am not sure we'd be willing to do that commute. Stokes offers longevity, in that sense, that LAMB does not. |
The NE location goes up to 5th, The NW location goes to 3rd but everyone is supposed to move to Walter Reed Campus when it opens. |
