Who's sending their child to school (DCPS) tomorrow?

Same here, but I had to take off because it a half day with no aftercare.

I don't get not sending them. Isn't part of childhood and the whole school experience getting to be at school on those precious few days when there aren't many kids here are you CAN watch movies and eat the leftover snacks? My kid loves this and I bet he will remember it fondly. I do!

I usually take him when I go on field trips or chaperone field day and festivities are over at 2pm. But this year I left him a few times when most of the kids had gone and he had a blast. You'd be surprised how much fun it could be for them.

It's a real school day (or half-day) even if they're not going to do much, and I want to signal that school is important and we attend unless there's a compelling and permissible reason not to. It's also the last time for DC to be together with classmates and teachers.

Curious if you could report back what your kid's class did today. I think school is important but this last week has been ridiculous. They haven't done a single thing but watch the smartboard. Even in her library special, she watched a video. And not a video of a book.
