As a 42 yo woman who went through IVF three times, that involved DH unfortunately having to ejaculate in a clinical setting....I think their excuses are just that.

They can extract her eggs directly from her ovaries, no need to even untie her tubes. I know it's not common but women over 40 do get pregnant, esp if they can try with multiple cycles. I did.

What is his objection to offering one sperm sample per cycle? It takes 15 minutes and it's once for an entire cycle. Thousands of men have done this and many have become biological fathers as a result. This guy is willing to have sex with his step daughter but not ejaculate in a clinical setting? Ejaculating in a fertility clinic for the purpose of getting medical treatment so you can have a child with your wife is purposeful and more dignified than having sex with your step daughter. The reason it's so wrong to have sex with your step daughter is because even step relations are still family relations even though they may not be biological relations and family relations should carry some degree of integrity, dignity, loyalty, boundaries, and respect. This is why having sex with only one's spouse is considered part of the marriage contract, part of the agreement between two people who love one another. Sex outside of marriage is a violation of that trust, that contract, that agreement. Even sex without feelings is a violation of that. It is very naive to think it is possible to do this and have everybody live happily ever after.

This husband and daughter and wife too have some serious problems in my opinion. They need family counseling with a good psychiatrist or psychologist to at minimum discuss this with an outside party.

So true, this is not incest but it comes awfully close to it because its a total violation of family boundaries and decency.
