If I had to get my SIL's permission every time I spent time with my brother, I would really resent her. Get over yourself.

I LOVE time with my brother without his wife. I get annoyed that some people seem to think that because I'm a woman and she's a woman somehow we have a great bond. He's my brother, for pete's sake. Sometimes I want to see him and have it be just him and me. I think the PP is correct that you'd probably understand it better if it were his brother.

Is part if the issue that she is visiting, that you had made plane to have brunch all together( or at least not bring earned it was only a bro/sis thing), and then she announced you were disinvited the day before ? I'd find that rude. But nothing bad about their wanting time together without anyone else around.

Please grow up. There could be 1000 reasons why she wants to have lunch alone with her brother, that have NOTHING to do with you. This seems like one of those situations where you are looking for reasons to be offended. And you told him it was fine to go? How generous to allow him to go to lunch with his sister without you.
