| I don't this its "these" posters. I think it's OP - period. Who must either be a psychotic parent or disgruntled employee that will stoop to the depths of posting custody hearing details on an anonymous board, and who I suspect has complained on numerous other threads. (Remember What we said about big girl panties darling!) If Lafayettes principal is telling crazy parents they should drop their kids at the curb isn't she just doing her job? This is why we can't have nice things I guess... |
actually, so far I saw a blog of the teacher union. I did not see "teachers, staff, parents" , just a handful of anonymous posts. I also saw other anonymous posts saying that the new principal was a breath of fresh air and that she was against a small group of "powerful" parents used to get their way with the former principal. some of the things said about this principal are ridiculous and this makes difficult to believe all the charges. as I said above, dropping kids off and picking them up outside is normal and totally reasonable. the principal targeting parents who talk to a teacher is ridiculous and the poster did not provide any explanation on how that would happen. and what about e-mail (I have two kids in k and 4th at Murch and I think I may have talked to a teacher at drop off 3 times in all these years - I use e-mails or ask for an appointment - same for the principal). and a person who post the link to a child custody case does not really strike me like somebody with a real, objective argument against the principal (maybe she was one of the screaming aides who is finally being dealt with?). |
How would you know this is ridiculous unless you have a stake in Lafayette? It's all true. The union is trying to shed light what is happening in our schools since the Central office will not deal with it. Teachers cannot speak out because their jobs are threatened. Staffers have even less protection and will get fired for speaking out. |
| ^ I suspect she was the one who was complaining about the aides. Really, it's beyond gross you'd post details of her custody battle PP. I hope you feel great about yourself. |
| There is a reason this person wasn't offered a position after interviewing for 16 principal positions in rural Illinois. Now DCPS has to deal with her because they didn't do due diligence in the hiring process. The situation is a lawsuit waiting to happen and yes there are employees considering lawsuits. This principal should be fired. |
You are crazy obsessed with bringing her down. To the point that you are coming across like an unhinged stalker. |
I talk to my kids teachers all the time. |
No, she's crazy and a terrible administrator. Here's incident from her days in Illinois. BLOOMINGTON -- A McLean County jury acquitted a Normal Community West High School graduate of felony charges that said he slapped his girlfriend and wrapped his arms around her neck last year when the two were students. Antonio Beard, now 19, was initially charged with a misdemeanor after the May 2009 incident but faced a felony aggravated battery charge after prosecutors dropped the misdemeanor case. The felony case also was dismissed and re-filed by prosecutors before the trial. Defense attorney Scott Kording criticized the McLean County state's attorney's office after Thursday's verdicts for what he considered a waste of judicial resources in bringing the case to trial. "I think there was absolutely no need based on the dearth of evidence to file three separate criminal prosecutions against Antonio Beard. It's been a long road that we feel was completely unnecessary," said Kording..... "We mess around like this all the time in high school. I was laughing about it and now here I am at the courthouse," the girl said after her testimony. Kording challenged the testimony of Normal West Assistant Principal Carrie Broquard, who said she had a clear view of the incident from where she was standing in the doorway of the school office. The video showed Broquard behind a glass door initially, but she exited as the incident unfolded. "Her memory is seriously flawed," Kording said of the administrator's account. Broquard told the jury that the alleged victim was crying and upset after the incident. A disagreement in the lunchroom sparked the slap that resulted in criminal charges, according to the girl's testimony. |
doesn't realize that their efforts are going to backfire. Central will (and should) dig in and not cede its authority to an outdated power structure that serves only its own interests. |
Alright. At this point PP is be in contact with Jeff to start building my stalking case evidence. You're insane. |
| No. What's insane is principal trying to get a 19 year old convicted of a felony due to in-school horseplay. What's insane is that DCPS supports bully principals and doesn't support excellent long time teachers and staffers who have dedicated their careers to DCPS. You have no idea what's going on in that school and it's pathetic that you are defending something you know nothing about. |
| Whose the bully now PP? Digging up this woman's personal life details and history and posting them on an anonymous board? Give us your name. Sure we can't find a thing about you! |
You really do appear to be unbalanced. The principal was not trying to get a 19 year convicted of a felony. Principals are not able to file charges. States Attorneys do that. I found the article that you quoted and found that you left out a part: "Assistant State's Attorney John Shim asked jurors in closing arguments to consider the images in a school surveillance tape that shows Beard coming from behind and hitting the girl on the her head with an open hand before briefly putting his arm around her neck. "'Can anyone say he didn't hit her? Absolutely not,' said Shim." That is literally the only part of the article you didn't quote. Quite obviously you were selectively editing to present a false version of the story. Why didn't you want us to know that there was video evidence supporting the Principal's testimony? Given your selective editing, who looks more insane? You with your obsessive stalking or the Principal who is rightfully concerned about violence at school? |
What grade do you teach at Lafayette? I want to see if I can figure out who you are. |
| Lafayette parent here -- I don't know about any of this. What I do know is that the principal is making some changes that probably are ruffling feathers at Lafayette -- moving some staff with bad reputation, changing the testing structure and calling for higher standards. All of that seems needed to me. I'm very encouraged by what I've seen so far from her. If there's some wrongdoing going on, I haven't seen it. Accusers, including the WTU, should be willing to back up their accusations with some facts if they are going to make them publicly like this. |
