Perfect for me. Any younger, and I probably would have been too immature; much older and I'm not sure I would have kept up with them very well. |

28. Love school events - with my son finishing his junior year, I feel like a youngster every time I attend. |
This is me. And it's not that unusual. Most of the dads of kids my kids play with became dads in their late 30s and early 40s. I'm the oldest, but not by too far. |
What, you're a same sex couple 26 years apart or are you a woman and these are your first and second husbands? |
Glad to see this. My husband will be 44 when our first is born. Most of his friends already have kids who are older. We have a big age difference between us, so I am on the young side for having kids (late 20s) and the first of my friends to have a baby. Sure keeps things interesting ... |

DH was 40 and definitely had some issues with feeling like an "old dad" because his brother was 21 when his 1st was born, and most of DH's old childhood friends had kids in their early 20s. Once we got to know more people in DC he stopped feeling so old -- late 30s-40s is very common. My brother is going to be a 1st time dad this week (SIL is being induced tomorrow!) at 43 yrs old. |

I didn't think I'd see so many in their 30s and 40s. May I ask what ages your wives were?
I'm pushing 32 with none but I'm just curious. |
PP w/ 40 yr old DH -- I was 33 when #1 was born. 35 with #2.
Most of my friends had their first at 30 or older. Only one close friend had a baby in her mid 20s and she found it irritating that people often thought she was the nanny when she was out with her baby. |
Husband was 30. I was 28. |
