Which sport do you think breeds the most obnoxious parents and why?

Lacrosse parents tend to be rich so with that might come some of the snootiness.

For the boys that play, often they are the popular, good looking jock types and when they are good, there is often a cockiness to them. HOWEVER I do believe if you have that trifecta in any sport- looks, money and talent you will get that as well. ANY sport.

Hockey parents are fun. I see them tailgating at Fairland when I take a break after 3 hours in the stands at the pool. Swim parents suffer. The 4:30 am practices makes or attracts martyrs who are constantly sleep deprived.

I'd like to add figure skating parents; ok, just the moms.

The higher you go in figure skating, the more money and ice time and travel and special coaches and costumes and training involved. Lots of emphasis on displays of wealth, cash outlays. The moms tend to be fiercely competitive, always intelligence-gathering and sizing up the competition.

Soccer parents to me are the most obnoxious. I have met some nice people on my sons' lacrosse team, so don't get what all the fuss is about.
