Hygiene product recommendations - for tween girl

Also, one thought is that if you want her to be excited about taking care of herself you may want to include her in choosing them. She may be happier to use something that she was involved in choosing. I think the gift basket is a nice idea, but she may put it to the side.

Absolutely! They're definitely at the age where they want to choose, and she'll have alot more ownership of it. Nice thought, the gift basket, but choosing it all herself will be more effective.

My tween uses the same soap, shampoo and conditioner she's always used. Tom's deodorant is in her room but she never uses it.

+1 There is no need for your daughters to use anything except good old fashioned soap. You all are going way beyond basic grooming care and perpetuating the myth that a woman's body needs extra special care. It's weird.

+ another one. Stop the insanity! Girls don't need all this stuff.

Clinique pink foaming face wash
Clinique 7 day face scrub
Nexus Therappe and Humectress
Secret deodorant
Bath and body works skin lotion
Aveeno body wash in the winter, Suave (cheaper) in the summer
Burts bees lip balm and blistex as needed

I was playing barbies at 10. WTF???

My 10 yr. old uses Dove soap for face and body, and whatever shampoo/conditioner is currently in her bathroom (I think Pantene). Lubriderm lotion after showering. Chapstick. Secret deodorant. That's it.

We kept it simple:

Still uses California Baby body wash - big pump container in the bath. The recent article on all those bath beads has put me off anything with those scrubbers in them.
Whole Foods 365 shampoo
My conditioner
Cetaphil for her face
Once or twice a week she steams her face well and uses a scrub to get any blackheads around her nose
She picked out two nice new wash cloths just for her
Natural deodorant - Jason is good. We recently ordered some online from a small all natural producer in the town where I grew up.
Same lotion we all use
Also bought her own nail brush for between trims

Judge much? The all-natural deodorants do nothing for my 9 yo. She needs Secret or etc. She needs a face wash because she is getting acne. Consider yourself lucky if your dd doesn't need deodorant yet, but she will eventually and the Tom's does not cut it for many people.

Cerave facial cleanser and moisturizer
Dove body wash and deodorant

These are the products my 12-year-old uses too. Also, she first tried a "natural" deodorant and it gave her a rash. She also likes to take baths occasionally so I got her a Lush bath bomb set as a gift.

Love the Native deodorants. Did the subscription which sends 3 every few months which allowed us to get the cardboard push-up style container. So no plastic Scents are all great. Better smell protection than Tom’s, for us. No rashes like others. Downside is pricey. Worth it for the other reasons mentioned.

Otherwise, just soap, shampoo, conditioner. Occasional witch hazel for face.

My girls are 9 and 12. I bought some fun large body washes at tj max, like philopshy brand. We like the fancy smelling soaps and shampoos from hotels, so i gave them a bunch of those. I tell them to use soap on their body sparingly though. Use jergens lotion for body. Noxema for face. I also brought some neutrogena face wash. Mouthwash. One of those hair removal laser pens. Vaseline. Venue Razors and shaving cream for the older one. Aussie, pantene or apple cider vingegar shampoo from the drug store.

Yeah OP, your expectations are WAY off. Let her sniff and pick out a deodorant and call it day. Get some Cerave face wash for her if you really want to, but it will likely sit in shower unused. 9 year olds do not care about this. Most 12 yr old girls still do not care about this...

You have a long ways to go before she actively wants to be using all the stuff you want to get her,
