I am pro choice and my au pair won't drive our kids

Would you care? Would it bother you if people saw your kids in a car with a pro life sticker on it?

First, this. Nothing screams tacky like a bumper sticker. Unless you are a college kid.

Second, just put a magnetic thingy over it when she drives. Honestly, I wouldn't want to drive around with a "pro-life" or a "pro-choice" bumper sticker because it's embarrassing. Really, what grown up has bumper stickers on their car?

Hey! I need bumper stickers to cover up the scratches and dents.

also think you should have a magnet available to place over your sticker when the au pair drives.

I wonder what else your au pair is going to decide she can't do. I'd get a new one

A better analogy is, would it bother you if people saw you in a car with a pro-life sticker on it?

If you have other issues with her, get a rematch; otherwise, just cover the sticker when she's driving.

I am proud to support pro choice and why do you feel it is tacky to voice an opinion or what you support?

Voicing an opinion is not tacky. Using your vehicle as a medium for expressing an opinion is tacky. Do you also have stickers on your house?

We live in a condo, but do you put political signs in your yard ever? Wear a political sticker on a shirt at a community event?

Because slapping a tacky sticker on your car is not supporting pro-choice. It's simply your way of getting attention. Everyone knows that. No one looks at a bumper sticker and thinks, "wow. I'm so glad she is pro-choice". It's a way of calling attention to yourself. Totally normal in teens and college aged kids. Most adults adults outgrow that nonesense.

I can understand your au pairs feelings. I would be embarrassed to drive around in a car with a bumper sticker like that - "pro-choice" or "choose-life".

Do you consider flags and yard signs tacky?

what a narrow understanding of bumper stickers. I don't have any but it's clear that while some who do just want attention, others have them to show solidarity with a group or movement. To make usually invisible support for a topic visible. there is more than one reason to put a label on your car.

I also would vote for the magnet, but agree with PPs who think this is just a red flag.

I'm very pro-choice and I would just take the sticker off the car. It makes the car neutral, not prolife.
