Do you do anything for your pet's birthday?

Our GSD also gets a song, birthday treat, and new toy on his bday. Our child's birthday is the next day and they are a year apart, so back-to-back fun. His doggy daycare has also celebrated his birthday and posts pics on FB of him in birthday hat, etc.--he usually looks like he has no idea what's going on but loves the attention.

He also has a stocking full of treats/toys at Christmas time--I know, he's super spoiled!

PP here. We've stopped with any out-of-the-ordinary treats/cookies, though. One year I got him a big frosted cookie for his bday, and that sent him to the emergency room! Should've kept in mind that GSDs can have sensitive stomachs. He was obsessively licking the ground, which I didn't realize was a sign of severe nausea in dogs. He ended up getting meds and fluids at the ER. So yes we now spoil him but don't go too crazy with new foods/treats.

My dog's birthday is Feb 29, 2008. So on 2/29/12, we put a #1 candle on his food before serving it to him. DD blew it out.
