How does it compare to IKEA? We need to replace our dining room furniture (IKEA that's held up for 10+ years) -- need 2 tall cabinets, 2 short, a buffet, table, and 4 chairs. I like what I see at IKEA except that the sizes are either too small or too big for our odd dining room. I see stuff at Bob's that could work. It's more expensive than IKEA. Is it better quality? Worse? We have 2 young kids and 2 cats. I want pieces that are safe and sturdy but we will likely replace them in 10 years or when we buy a better house, whichever comes first. |
I had a couch from there that held up perfectly for years - way better than the 2k sectional we got from Belfort that looks like ass after a year. |
This poster back to say that the legs of the chairs are starting to fall off not even 2 months later. Will let you know how the Goof Proof works out. |
Bobs is absolute shit! If you do make the mistake of purchasing from them don't even bother with the Goof Proof warranty. Guardian is who the Goof Proof is through and they look for every way not to ho or the warranty. I purchased a queen size bed frame with storage drawers. Ever since it was delivered and professionally installed it has been wobbly. Tried putting in a warranty and as explained above they didn't honor it. Said because the bed was moved to another location it voids the warranty. Funny the movers I stalled it exactly the same way as Bob's installers. Now, just to prove that I'm not a guy who likes to write negative reviews, my brother purchased a huge motorized sectional from them for a pretty high price. Couch is comfortable when I've been in it. He just told me that after less than a year of owning it the recliner motor has failed. Not sure what the outcome is or will be but the point is Bob's Furniture is SHIT. Spend a little extra and get better quality. |
We have a sectional from Bob's. About 3 years in, teens put a hole in it (100% teen caused). They said it couldn't be repaired, and gave us a brand new sectional via the goof off plan. New sectional us now 3 years old and still in great shape |
It's crap. If you plan to replace furniture every 5 to 10 years, it's ok. But it's still crap. |
I love the Bob o pedic mattresses. We’ve had one for at least 6 years and several more for 4 years. |
Lots of blingy crap. |
Look at estate sales and you can buy a lot better quality real wood pieces for less $! |
We bought a sofa last year from them and I hate it but my husband loves it. It’s one of the knock off Cloud couches. Our bed frame from there is 6 years old and is in perfect shape, even after a few moves. |
Bought a bunch of mattresses there for a second home we had to furnish all at once. They weren't great. One by one we've replaced them with something more comfortable. |
We have a few pieces from Bobs. They are not high use pieces, except maybe a couch in the basement which we have had maybe 5 years and it has survived a move. The other items get less use but they serve the purpose. If you need cheap furniture Bob's serves the purpose. |
You can bet better from estate sales and used from Facebook marketplace. |
But they will be antique looking and not contemporary and hard to get rid of later. I got a very comfortable brand name couch and armchair and a nice desk from FB temporarily and wanted to get rid of it but no takers even when I posted it free. Had to pay someone to take it to the landfill. |
I would go with ikea before I would buy from bob’s honestly. But rather than either of those, for my dollar I would get high end used furniture. I finally figured this out a few years ago and I’ll never go back to cheap furniture. Estate sales, Marketplace, resale shops are where it’s at. The cost/value ratio of buying good used stuff is unbeatable. |
