nicely done humble brag |
Oh my lol. This is why I stopped ordering a foot long to share with my ds. I hope you got yourself some dinner then!
|
| My kind of small size 11 year old son loves the foot long Has been eating them since age 8. It seems like a lot, but it is soft and not that loaded with meat. I think kids eat a lot when they like something and have time. If they don't like it much or are busy playing, can skip a meal or too. |
This. A slice of cheese is practically see through and they cut it in half so you have two triangles. |
| I am impressed. My soon to be 10 yr old son eats like a bird. He does take medication for ADHD so when it wears off, he eats like a "horse." After reading the OP's post, maybe I should change that to "eats like a miniature pony." He will eat a big bowl of cereal. He doesn't eat more than half of a sandwich even when he is hungry. I hope his appetite picks up at some point. |

Yes. My boys started eating foot long subs around 9. This is not considered a big meal at 12.
That is why I love Chipotle, my boys will eat it and not need a snack a hour later. |
| My 5 year old insists on the foot long, and usually finishes it. We can't keep up with him. |
| Growth spurt. Feed him well and make sure he is taking his multivitamins. Make sure he is getting a whole lot of milk, meat, veggies, fruits, whole grains and healthy fats and nuts. |
| Subway isn't very filling to me unless I pile it with veggies, then it's more satisfying. You can get spinach in place of lettuce. Then add cucumbers and green peppers. Then wheat bread for the added fiber. Every little bit helps it become a more complete meal. |

My thin 14 year old grew 8 inches this last year.
He can drink 4 gallons of skim milk in a week. It is crazy. |
Time to sign him up for football! |
i always say "everything" to really load up with veggies. |
Body shape isn't a reliable indicator of how much a person can polish away. I have a cousin who's as thin as a rake, and he'll eat in a day the amount of food I eat on two-three days. No kidding. And I'm no "dainty little bite" eater, either. Your son is probably going though, or nearing, a growth spur. The advice I feel like giving you in this "OMG obesity" panic day-and-age is to put your fingers in your ears re. scaremongers and trust your son's ability to self-regulate. Don't give him issues he doesn't have and doesn't need. Let him enjoy his food and grow. |

Not everyone has fat pig children, you know. |
