didn't have time to cook so bought subway on way home. was surprised he finished the whole sub rather quickly. is this normal and indicate things to come? i've heard parents of boys said how much they eat but DC is still several months from turning 11 and is avg height/below-avg weight (73 lbs), and never before was able to eat a whole foot-long sandwich.
Body shape isn't a reliable indicator of how much a person can polish away. I have a cousin who's as thin as a rake, and he'll eat in a day the amount of food I eat on two-three days. No kidding. And I'm no "dainty little bite" eater, either. Your son is probably going though, or nearing, a growth spur. The advice I feel like giving you in this "OMG obesity" panic day-and-age is to put your fingers in your ears re. scaremongers and trust your son's ability to self-regulate. Don't give him issues he doesn't have and doesn't need. Let him enjoy his food and grow.
