Time to sign him up for football!

Yep! Because if you're going to over eat, you may as well have repeated head trauma too.

Eh. My 11 yo doesn't eat that much, but really, OP, I think you are overthinking it. The kid was probably just particularly hungry.

Hmmm, my six year old can eat a footlong sandwich...i don't find it surprising that an 11 year old can.

And before people say he's overweight....he's 90 percentile for height and 45 for weight.

Like today he will have:
Breakfast 1 ½ cups oatmeal & a banana.
Lunch a 6-inch meatball sub, ½ cup raw veggies & dip, 5 slices of mango & a cup of some other fresh fruit.
Snack in school protein granola bar.
Afterschool snack an apple, cheez its & ½ a peanut butter & jelly sandwich
Dinner will be the chicken.

He is about 4 foot 8 inches, at least yesterday he was, he will probably be 4’10 by this evening ?

Do you really measure out his veggies and fruit?

nicely done humble brag

That will be the next posting.

"Dear DCUM, my 11yr old had a WHOLE big bowel movement. He is not even 100lbs. I am not sure where it came from. Please help!!!"

Umm, my slightly underweight six year old has eaten a footlong. Grandma bought it for him.

Body shape isn't a reliable indicator of how much a person can polish away. I have a cousin who's as thin as a rake, and he'll eat in a day the amount of food I eat on two-three days. No kidding. And I'm no "dainty little bite" eater, either.

Your son is probably going though, or nearing, a growth spur.

The advice I feel like giving you in this "OMG obesity" panic day-and-age is to put your fingers in your ears re. scaremongers and trust your son's ability to self-regulate. Don't give him issues he doesn't have and doesn't need. Let him enjoy his food and grow.

Great advice.

Wow. You PPs all amaze me. My same-aged children have bird-like appetites in comparison.

Don't worry, our kids won't be 300lbs when they are 15

Wow are you serious??? That is INSANE. I just can.not.believe.it. Whew!! Wow, just wow. Sign him up for the Nathan's Hot dog eating contest this July. What a feat. You must be shocked, proud, amazed because this post is going to haunt me for days. This just can not be real. Must be a troll.

+1

This is the dumbest thread I have ever read. I thought there was going to be more to it. A 10yr old at a 12" sub. Big freakin deal.
