I have been married 7 years to someone I dated for 9 years before that. Maybe it's that it took us that long to get around to marriage (dating at 20, married at 29) but if he'd asked me to postpone I think I would have bailed. Figure out if this is the person you want to see when you wake up and, if it is, marry him! Btw, I know plenty of people who knew each other less than a year who are in happy marriages and plenty who knew each other longer who are not.
