What's Your Favorite Jarred Salsa?

Agreed, agreed, agreed! Yum.

I still can't believe he's gone.

Always a bitch in the group.

I am always open to new recipes and so thought OP was too. She wasn't. Fine. (BTW, everyone who has tried this salsa loves it so don't knock it till you try it bitchy poster.)

OP here. I put jarred, specifically, because I have relatives in another country asking for American food-type stuff, and thought they'd like some salsa. I need something I can carry with me on a flight. I don't think they'd be too keen on my saying it's "American" as I prepare it in their kitchen. But thanks anyway.

No need for attitude OP. You could have explained that at first.

I'm with the can of beans lady. The jarred salsas are mostly crap and it's relatively easy to put together your own, which tastes much better.

And if it really is for taking overseas, take them the crap. They won't know.

What attitude? I was explaining why I needed jarred salsa recommendations.

I really like the Senor Fields Chipotle from WF but the jar is large so not sure if you want to take that much. I also wanted to mention that you may not want to carry this on the plane with you. There is a good chance that it will get confiscated at security since TSA may view it as a liquid. My mom was just traveling with some cans of Goya Black Beans (long story) and they gave her a real hard time and pulled her aside to inspect them. I know she has had pasta sauce taken away before. I would hate for you to go through all this trouble and then have it taken away.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will enjoy trying all these brands.

I'd pack it in checked luggage. I've taken food before, in glass jars, and it travelled just fine. I've gotten to be an expert at packing food, it seems.

Wegman's Chipotle--closest thing to Rio Grande

Sigh-if I didn't have to cross the Rio Grande to get to Wegman's, I'd shop there everyday.

From Texas here, so I know from salsa

Senor Fields Chipotle Salsa is awesome. Whole Foods sells it.

Then OP can simply airmail the purloined condiment to her overseas chums. Do you really take a bunch of it to use later? That's as bad as my mom stuffing sweet and lo packets in her purse. Tacky.

Whoa, so rude to the poster who was kind enough to write her recipe down for you. OP is a bitch and so is the other person insulting the simple recipe. What a bunch of mannerless assholes. Did the recipe poster take up valuable space on your thread with her unwanted advice? Damn.

You must be the recipe poster, aren't you?

Only here could a simple discussion about jarred salsa turn into a catfight(or should I say cockfight?).

I like the Costco salsa.
