What is your stupidest fashion purchase?

A pair of shoes in this style:

but without the studs and in black suede instead of leather.

They were heavily on sale at my favorite store and a friend talked me into them (I was buying a lot of other stuff and threw them on last minute because of my best gay friend insisting I bought them)

Wore them once, almost fell over repeatedly, and never again. They are impossible to walk in and also pretty ugly, IMO.

This is why I dont go shopping with this friend anymore. He convinced me to buy a few other pieces with he said were "Fabulous!" but I never wore because I thought they looked ratchet.

I HATE these shoes. Mine are like feet killers. Make my feet bloody every time I'm stupid enough to try and wear them again. And each time I say, "never again!"

I had a Vera Wang but it was closer to $2,500. For me, it was worth every penny because that dress makes me happy every time I look at the photos. Been married 10+ years. $5K would have been harder to justify, though.

If this is for real, then this PP wins hands down. Who on earth could possibly have thought those shoes were a good call (even without the studs)?

Not the pp but oh the stupid shoes you buy with the encouragement of fabulous friends... Totally get her.

I got married 14 years ago. Never cared much about the princess look, and the above-mentioned 5k VW dress was very simple/streamlined. My problem was that I just walked to the Watergate shop over lunch break, liked it, and ordered it. It was ready 6 months later. At the time, I was young (mid-20s) and stupid.

Now the dress is hanging in my cedar closet - my younger, unmarried sister likes it...maybe she will use it one day.

OMG thank you to the Boot Band poster! You may have rescued 2 pairs of lovely black books that have been taunting me and my post-baby calves...
