PP here again, just to finish my thoughts on this as a gift: not a good one for a couple of reasons. 1) the thought behind the gift is amazing, but 2) the execution and aftermath can be dangerous.

In my case, there was a lot of build up and I was aware that it was happening so it is not like there was any element of surprise. We got proofs to review first electronically in order to decide which ones we'd get prints of or final touch ups. Wife and I spent hours looking at the proofs which was really cool because she looked super sexy. However, by the time we got the CD with the final 10 or so photos, I felt like I had already seen them all (in fact there were a few I liked better that didn't make the final cut). But I didn't know what to do at that point. It's not like I was surprised or seeing them for the first time, and it's not like we got prints or framed any them to display...where would we? Anyway, they do serve one purpose as it relates to my marriage...as a constant reminder to my wife that I didn't get excited about the final CD deliverable of the pictures even though we spent hours together looking at the proofs and even spent time together picking out what she'd wear to the shoot.

I'm the end. Not a good gift. But, yes, she did look awesome.

Sorry for the rambling rant DCUM, but this is actually a very sore topic in our marriage. Run like the wind if your DW ever offers this "present."

Actually it took you days to even look at the proofs and you looked at them while reading crap on your phone. But whatever...

Guy here, mid 30's...I doubt this would be that great of a gift. I love my wife, but like Bob said earlier, I'm not sure how I'd feel about her posing in various states of undress in front of a male photographer, assuming that's the photographer's gender. If the process is as arduous as the one person described, having to go over proofs, pick the shots yourself, etc., etc., it seems like by the time the final product was delivered, a lot of the sexiness and surprise would be missing from it.

And the display thing...where am I going to put them? Certainly not in my office where my staff might have to meet with me. Not in the bedroom when our kids are running in constantly to jump on the bed and do other stuff. They'd have to be hidden most of the time. I can think of better uses for our money.
