men: are boudoir photos really a good gift?

I saw my neighbor had hers hanging on the living room wall. She had kids.

If I took my own photos as suggested above, would I have them developed? Where would I do that? I feel like going to Walgreens and printing them would be awkward to say the least!

I think just texting or emailing them to your partner would be sufficient. No need to have hard copies. But if you do want hard copies, you could upload them to a site that will print them and send them to you, like Mpix.

They have these amazing devices for home use called color inkjet printers now. We also have cellular phones and stuff.

I am super self-conscious about my body (especially after two kids). I'm back to my old weight, but things just aren't the same. My husband, however, was recently lamenting that he has no pictures of me in bikinis/bathing suits because I tend to hide from those pictures and thus he has a few he took while we were at the beach and I was far enough away/looking the other direction so I didn't notice. So I thought that maybe getting a professional to take some shots at nice angles that don't make me as self-conscious would be a nice idea for DH. It would be a surprise, not something that I would ask him to look over with me, and I would use a female photographer.

Still a terrible idea?

Your husband sounds like he would love this. I think its silly to have someone look at proofs for a gift you're giving them. Go with a female photographer and surprise him fir Father's Day!

Most of these photos are too unreal. A couple of years ago my DH and I decided to video ourselves in bed making love. Yes, tacky! We went the extra mile to make it wild and crazy and it was amazing. But when we played back the video we couldn't stop laughing at how amateurish and awkward we were. No porn stars here! After two viewings we deleted the video. The good news is that taking it the extra mile has become the norm.
