This is OP and I'll take your $50. We almost never bring out the devices. That's why I prefer places with solid service. |
NP here. You'd prefer my kid running around you in a crowded wait area? |
| Personally I don't go anywhere with my kids that doesn't take reservations. And if it's a "wait" kind of place, I will go very early. I never would have waited in the first place. Sorry OP but Sunday morning brunch is not predictable. |
| Kid-friendly has nothing to do with how long you have to wait for a table. As a PP stated above, it's about whether the restaurant makes accommodations for children, which TB does. They have high chairs, a kid's menu and pop tarts for heaven's sake. I'd be annoyed about the bad table wait estimation, but that has nothing to do with whether or not they're kid-friendly. Plus, this restaurant just opened. Give it some time to work out the kinks. |
Ha, no, quite the opposite. But anyone who expects a hungry preschooler to wait quietly for an hour for breakfast probably would be advised to have an iPad on hand. |
Really?? I think the sine qua non of kid friendly MUST be that they give you an accurate wait time and bring the food promptly. I'd much rather sit my kid at a chair with no high chair and no crayons than wait for an hour, then wait another hour for food. |
But you're missing the fact that maybe they just had a bad day/maybe had new (bad) hosts/just opened, etc. Did you talk to the manager? |
Well, then you'd be wrong
|
If the kitchen has new staff and backed up, you wait. Bring your toys, crayons or tablet and give kids a snack. Simple. |
This just be the difference between DC and NoVA. IMO opinion this is a pretty low standard for kid-friendly - feels like there are very few places in VA that don't have kids menus, crayons, and high chairs. |
It would be such a shame if he tripped over a foot while he was running... |
Who would wait two hours to eat at a chain restaurant? Aren't there better things to be doing? Geez. Learn how to cook. |
Agree! |
| That pop-tart is the biggest letdown in the history of letdowns. It's a blob of jelly in horrible pastry, covered in a pound of sprinkles. So gross. |
| As an adult, I would not wait an hour for a table at a restaurant. I don't have the patience to wait that long. I would have gone to target and picked up milk, eggs, juice, bread, and gone home and made breakfast. I would be able to shop, go home, cook, eat, and clean up in the hour it would take to be seated. |
